Description of App

“Not playing videogames has never been this much fun” - Jim Sterling, GamesRadar (iPhone Game of the Day)
"This game has made me laugh more than any other I've played in recent memory" - GamePro (App Store Games of the Week)
"Ultimately, GodVille is a fun, funny, incredibly clever little game" - Destructoid

Have a look at these awesome game features:

- auto-RPG where your hero levels up by himself!
- play it with your own pace - once a day or once a month
- hilarious game world with thousand of witty and funny texts to unleash your imagination
- extend the game by offering new ideas and content
- daily newspaper, ideabox, game wiki, pantheons pvp, guilds, friends and lots of other stuff!

Tired of the games where you have to play 24x7x365 just not to feel like a loser? Godville is the answer! All you need to do is to create your own hero and he will do all these boring things you had to do in the other games, leaving you to enjoy the only thing that matters in any game - lean back and have fun.

Godville is a zero-player game (ZPG), parodying everything from "typical" MMO games with their tedious level ups, to internet memes and ordinary day to day things. The game is continuously evolved based on ideas and suggestions from the community of players.

The game requires persistent internet connection.

Godville can also be played in the browser: http://godvillegame.com

PS: If you're having a problem with the game please contact us using Menu-> Feedback within the app or via email support@godvillegame.com

Accessibility Comments

AppleVis Editor Note: this app was submitted before Usability Ratings were introduced, so one has been chosen on the basis of the accessibility comments made by the original poster. If you have used this app, please post a comment to let us know if you agree with the Rating.

Original Comments: The only thing I notice is that when your hero diary loads, the app seems to crash. Other people haven't reported this, so just giving a warning. Sometimes it works and the app loads, and I've let the developer know about it. Otherwise, the app seems 100 percent accessible.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

If you've played Progress Quest before on PC, this game is similar. With this game, however, you get to control your hero by sending it commands. You play the role of a god from the Heavens, so they may follow your orders. Than again, they may not. Sometimes they'l hear it and do nothing, sometimes they'll hear it and think you shouted something else and carry out what they thought you wanted.

Includes a profile screen where you can set push notifications for levelups, deaths, gold, artifacts and more. Also includes Facebook and Twitter integration.

#1 Crashes

Submitted by Adaria on 13 March, 2011 - 20:06.

I have the same problem. I swipe the screen as soon as it loads to get to a different screen such as remote control but it will crash at some point. A shame as it is a great game but if you can make an account on the iphone you can play easily on a browser. For now the web version is beta and invite only but making an account on the iphone should secure that.

#2 game crashes

Submitted by Audrey on 13 March, 2011 - 20:43.

I have the same experience with the diary screen crashing. I have discovered through trial and error that clearing out all apps, including Godville, from the app switcher increases the occurrence of successful loading. I also turn voiceover off with the home button triple click immediately after opening the app. Generally if I just leave it alone for 30 seconds to a minute, I can then turn voiceover back on and the game will work correctly. It doesn't work every time, but it does seem to help and at least makes the game less frustrating. I play online a lot as well. It's a silly, pointless game yet I am rather hooked on it the moment. Hope they fix the crashing issue to make this game even more enjoyable. Now I must go check on my knucklehead of a hero...

I wish they would label the stats better. I see my heroes hit points and got power, I can't figure out with the last two stats me. What's 4/8, 10 149?
