Changing the Root Password on your Jailbroken iDevice (Windows)
In this podcast, Musicruz and Chirag briefly discuss what are some of the possible consequences of leaving your jailbroken iDevice with its default root password. They then explain how to secure your iDevice and provide a Windows version walk-through guide to change this password.
Musicruz and Chirag have created a designated repo that listeners can access to reset their iDevice back to the default password. Simply install the package and it will reset the password back to "alpine".
The repo URL is: http://cydia.myrepospace.com/chirag

#1 accessible method of changing password on the phone
Hi,
Two things to say about this topic, firstly apple devices have two users, a root user which has full control of the phone, and a mobile user which has different privilege levels, both these users share the same password so its sensible to change the password for both users.
Now the second point to make, is that there is actually an app in cydia that you can use to change the password on the phone without having to use open ssh or your computer.
The app is in the bigboss repository and to find it just do a search for SYS Passwd, this gives you options to change it for both mobile and root users individually and is VoiceOver accessible.
