Description of App

The Knit and Crochet Counter app allows you to count rows of knitting or crocheting, or anything you wish!

It's easy to use the counter. Simply tap on the displayed number and it will increment. If you make a mistake and need to undo a row, no problem — the Knit and Crochet Counter app will let you adjust your counter easily, including rapidly increasing or decreasing the count, or even resetting to start over.

Pattern repeats are also handled by the counter. Simply specify your starting and ending row numbers and let the counter keep track of your repeats for you, including which row of the pattern you're currently on, how many times you've repeated that section, and how many rows you've done in total.

It can store counters for many projects at once. Each of your projects can be given its own name, background fabric type, and customized color. You may also choose a photo from your photo library or take one with your device's camera to be the counter background.

You may take notes for each of your counters and access it easily while you're using the counter. The notes are displayed right next to the counter for easy reference.

Share your progress on social networks such as Facebook or Twitter including a picture of your project counter.

Post new photos and notes to Ravelry projects, or download a background photo from a linked Ravelry project.

On-screen notions permit you to select additional information related to your project to be displayed on the counter screen. Among the new information available is time-related information including elapsed time and even an estimation of how much time is left to finish the project.

Counters are able to be conveniently synchronized among all of your iOS devices. There's no more worrying about ensuring that you have the right device with your project's counter on it.

Knit and Crochet Counter supports iOS 9 features (on compatible devices) including iPad multitasking, device search integration, quick action shortcuts from the home screen to your most recent projects, and peeking at counters from the Counter List screen.

Accessibility Comments

This app seems to be pretty accessible. I have not tried to log onto Ravelry with a project, or take notes on my projects, though. The app developer deserves high praise for being so willing to work to make the current version of the app even better than before.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

In this app, there are three tabs to move from one part of the app to another. The "Counters" tab keeps track of all your counters. You can edit each counter to go with its corrisponding project. The "Settings" tab gives you different options for configuring the app, as well as syncing your counters between devices. The "Help" tab is where you can request support should you have a question or problem. Someone will usually respond within an hour or two. It's a great little app for blind knitters and crocheters. Happy counting.
