If you are using a bluetooth device and VoiceOver is turned off or crashes, you may find that you need to reconnect your audio device before VoiceOver will once again use it for output. Bluetooth devices also disconnect when other audio controls are activated such as the VoiceOver Rotor āAudio Duckingā and āAudio Destinationā.

In some apps, the "Go", "Search", or similar button in the bottom right of the keyboard remains dimmed if you have entered text only using Braille Screen Input. You must type a character using the on-screen keyboard before you can activate the button.

Braille displays will disconnect if you are in Airplane mode and have re-enabled bluetooth. The display will work normally until the screen is locked; when you unlock the screen, you will find that your Braille display does nothing and needs to be reconnected.

In Safari, you can't enter text using braille screen input on webpages. Braille works in the address/search field, but go to a webpage with a text field and start editing it (say a login or search field). Switch to braille input and try to type something: either you get nothing, or you get responses as though Quick Nav were on, even though this is not a hardware keyboard. While this is a great feature for jumping around a webpage, it should be disabled when you are editing.

As of iOS 11, Home Screen icons are managed using a new "Drag" option accessed through the VoiceOver Actions menu. If you start performing a drag, and then use the "Cancel Drag" option from the Actions Menu, you will commonly find that the item initially marked for dragging ends up in a different location on the Home Screen to where it was at the start.

The echoing of characters and words with Eloquence is too slow to let me use this voice when typing with BSI. This is especially noticeable with contractions like ED or THE; when Eloquence reads these back as it echoes the character I've typed, it's as though there are a few commas between each of the letters in the contraction. Alex, at least, speaks the letters fast enough for me to hear most or all of them before I start typing. At the very least, I don't have to pause as long as I do with Eloquence.
