Hi all!
So, today I wanted to share a feature suggestion with you all which I think would help quite a lot to spread the word about how an app is doing in the Applevis app directories.
Basically, in the form where new apps can be submitted, I think there should be an additional field where the Twitter name of the app developer (if any) can be entered. I think this could be beneficial in the following ways:
- Whenever a new app is submitted and a Twitter name has been supplied, the Twitter name could appear in the Tweet that the website sends out. This would increase the chances that the developers will see the announcement, and realize that their app has been tested for accessibility and submitted to Applevis. They could then visit the website, read about any issues or, quite possibly, pad themselves on their shoulders if the submitted app has an 'accessible' rating. Many companies look at their mentions to interact with customers, and I think this could be an easy way to let them know about the accessibility situation of an app. Such a Tweet could then look like this:
iOS App Directory entry (category): AppName by @twittername (accessibility status) link
- This would provide an easy way to let developers know whenever the accessibility status of an app changes, again by mentioning that person on Twitter.
- There could then be a link on the app page in the directory, so that someone looking at the site could easily find the developer's Twitter link and could choose to follow them easily.
Those are just some ideas, and I'm sure there some others that I've missed which could be interesting.
Hope you guys like the idea! :-)
Robin
