Hi everyone,
I've got a serious issue with VO on my iPhone SE since weeks or even months. The problem occured first after ugrading iOS from 14 to 15.
When navigating apps, speech is often interrupted and VO gets stuck. On screen, it looks like VO is reloading itself in a loop.
As a workaround, it sometimes helps to reload VO manually (home-button tripple-tap) or removing some apps from apps switcher.
Does someone have similar things on their iphones, maybe related to iOS 15 upgrade?
A iPhone reset didn't really help.
Best
Ben

Random disable
There are some instances voiceover will randomly turn off and turn back on itself at the middle of operation, after iOS 14, voiceover will not speak certain symbols after device restarts, to remedy this issue, you have to turn voiceover off and on, The bug that leads to VoiceOver being disabled is a really dangerous one, you can potentially send unusual messages when happening on the screen and voiceover suddenly turned off.
OK, is there anything I can…
OK, is there anything I can do about that? The randomly turning off and on of VO often happens in a loop for me... So this gets very annoying.
Is the bug happening on every device after iOS 14?
All devices
It’s happening on all iOS and iPadOS devices, there is nothing you can do to remedy this issue at this time, I would suggest trying to do a Full back up and restore using iCloud
As Edward said
As Edward said, I believe this is an all device issue. Anytime I try to unlock my 12, VoiceOver either hangs temporarily, or doesn't respond at all, thus forcing me to disable and re-enable it. There are times when I try to swipe up to go to home or app switcher, VoiceOver will play the audible click sounds you hear when performing the action, then glitch and not respond to it. Other times I'll unlock my phone with Face ID, and it will take me to the home screen. I'll start flicking around, and I'll either hear the edge sound, or just a bunch of clicks and haptics with no speech. It's a very strange issue.
Not on iPad Air 4
I have never experienced the described issue above, and I use my iPad all the time as a laptop replacement. My iPad is running iOS 15.2
this sounds like a serious…
this sounds like a serious voiceover bug not being actively fixed by Apple. Just got in touch with their accessibility desk, I think it makes sense that everyone facing this issue does so.
After a full reset it seems to be a bit better, but it's definitely not gone.
I’ve never seen this
Hi,
LastMonth, I upgraded from a 12 promax, to my current phone, which is a 13 promax, and have never seen this issue on any of my devices.
This includes devices prior to the 12 promax.
I also have an 11 inch iPad Pro, that has never exhibited this issue.
If you haven’t already, I would suggest plugging your device into iTunes, and doing a full restore, and setting up as new. That’s going to be the only way to make sure this issue goes away.
ok, thats also interesting …
ok, thats also interesting ... maybe that issue has something to do with RAM or other system resources and doesn't occur on pro devices with more resources available. But thats only a theory...
As said, deleting alldata and resetting doesn't completely help. And I don't see any difference between doing it via itunes and deleting all data and restoring from iCloud, or?
