hi all.

does anyone here on the applevis community site have this bug active on your iPhones?

I'm with this big bug active on my phone, and I'm very surprised that no one talks about it, and even more so for not being even part of the applevis website bug list.

this damn big bug is affecting me a lot because I use voice dictation a lot.
I ask you please give some feedback on this damn bug...

I'm pretty sure this big bug isn't just for me. lol.

I ask the team of applevis, to register this bug in the list of active bugs in ios 16 and also give knowledge of it the same the apple team accessibility.

please let's all report this damn bug, which For sure I know affects us very negatively...

thank you!

State with the bug is

You need to report what a bug is other than “damn bug“ before anyone can alert Apple accessibility to what the issue is. Since I don’t know what you’re referring to, are you talking about the bug where sometimes you have to touch the keyboard when two finger double tapping to disable dictation? if this is the case, I am experiencing this too. But for future posts like this, please state what the bug is so everyone can know what’s going on.

if we knew what the bug was we'd report it.

hi friends.

I am so affected by this bug, and with the hurry, of trying to resolve the issue, I did not explain how it should be the cause of this bug... yes, is the two finger magic tap
I thought everyone would understand the cause of the bug only with my basic description...
sorry, for the future, I will no longer make the same mistake...
thank you to those who gave me your feedback in a positive way.
ok this bug exists and is active, and it's not just me...

i will report and best describe this bug to apple accessibility.

please I ask everyone who is affected by the bug, to continue report to accessibility team the solution of this issue.

thank you.

I think it might be a feature.

I think what's happening is that IOS is waiting for you to correct any spellling errors but I've reported it as a bug anyway.

Dictation Bug Using Magic Tap

By Curtis Chong

10 months 3 weeks ago

Greetings: Either I am misunderstanding the nature of this bug or I am doing something else wrong. I conucted a number of dictation tests. I started and stopped dictation using the two-finger magic tap. So far, on my iPhone 12 Mini, everything is working fine. I am on iOS 16.1.1.

Works fine

Hi, for me two finger double tap works perfectly fine for starting and stopping dictation. I've never had an issue with this. iPhone 13 pro.

Long dictation problem

For me, this type of bug only applies when you dictate a paragraph that is more than two minutes long, also, when the bug has occurred, VoiceOver announce non-present image descriptions, such as logo other, and that is within the entire system unless you turn off voiceover and turn it back on.
This bug sometimes happens when you are dictating some thing that is more than 30 seconds Long on safari.
To avoid getting this type of magic tap dictation bug in the future, once you’re finished dictating, tap anywhere on the screen with one finger and wait for the flicking noise and this is the current workaround that is 100% effective

It works fine in certain apps.

For me it's hit and miss.

I get it with Netflix, but not the native TV app, probably cause that's Apple's own app, I dunno.

Anyway, my work around for it is to use the dictate button to start, and to stop just use the magic tap like normal.

I get it in distopia.

I haven't discovered this bug on my iPhone 13 Pro Max yet, but it's not working at all on my MacBook Air M1 and I have the latest software installed.

The dictate button is in the lower right corner

The magic tap is nice, but you guys really need to learn where buttons are on the screen. The dictate button is on the lower right side of the screen. Just position your finger over the button and double tap it when finished dictating.

dictate button

Hi
that's what I did in ios 15 i used the keyboard dictation button and would stop the dictation with magic tap.
...but in ios 16 I'm having this issue very strong...
now if I only use magic tap, to start and stop dictate the issue is less frequent
in ios 15, everything was fine without issues. were one mneira or another.

I had an iPhone XR, with the ios 15. but I bought an iPhone 13 thinking it was still coming with the ios 15. But I was wrong. came with ios 16.

i never would have done the update for ios 16 if i hadn't bought the iPhone 13.

cheers.

dictation bug

So I have been using IOS 16 for 1.5 months now and this started to happen. I located the dictate button in the lower right hand corner of the screen and one finger double tapped. Before I would one finger double tap to stop dictation. Now post IOS 16 for 1.5 months, I one finger double tap on the dictate button and nothing happens. I two finger double tap and nothing happens. In other words, sometimes a one finger double tap will stop dictation and yet at other times a two finger double will stop dictation. Usually this happens both in the native mail app and the text messages app. My point is that they have not fixed the bug.

Can confirm!
