Hi,
Due to a recent issue in my apartment and me being several hundred miles away, I decided it might be time to look into smart locks. These allow me, as the key holder, to send digital keys to friends and helpful neighbours. These keys can be set to expire, work only a certain time of the day and so on. A useful accessory for one who, like me, lives alone and often has to call on the help of local community.
My question is this... Are there any smart locks out there, Yale (not sure if I spelled that correctly) that have apps that work well with VoiceOver? Also, being a bit uninformed on the subject of fitting locks, are they fairly easy to drop in and, probably most importantly, do they have real key backups?
Any experiences you've had in this will be great to hear about. I'm in the UK, if that makes any difference to availability of hardware, but it's important I get a partially sighted/blind perspective before making such an expensive and security sensitive purchase.

We use the August smart lock pro in our home. I wasn't the one who installed it, but I do know we had to completely replace our deadbolt to do it as well as drill new holes in the door for the lock to work.
The app is perfectly accessible, no issues there.
As for a physical key? The smart lock pro doesn't come with a physical key or a physical lock a key can be used with. However, you can purchase one separately.
I hope this helps.
