Announcement: Email subscriptions are currently disabled

Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily disable the subscription facility on this site which enables users to receive email notifications of new content. As some of you will have noticed, the site has been heavily hit by a rather nasty spambot over the past 24 hours. Although we use multiple tools to prevent these from posting to the site, this spambot has managed to circumvent those. So, rather than have this spam being mailed out to users (most people have the subscriptions configured to send an email instantly on new content), we have decided to disable them completely until this spambot has been neutralised. Our apologies to those who have received notifications of these spam posts and to those who like to receive notifications. We hope to have these back again soon.
