AppleVis and "New"

Hi All!
I am new to AppleVis, and I am wondering: What does the phrase "New" mean when next to a title on any comment? Also, what does it mean when it says, when swiping through a forum "[number] new posts in [topic name]" on certain posts?
Thank you!

Hi and welcome to our community.

The “New” next to a comment title is to indicate that the comment has been posted since you last viewed the thread.

Similarly, “New” when used with forums is indicating the number of new topics in that forum.

Thank you!

It means that those comments were posted after the last time you checked the post. They're new to you.
