question about deleting comments from entries

Hi, Is there a way to delete comments on blog posts? last night I made a comment, and submitted it when it was half finished accidentally, I didn't realize it had gone, as my text just seemed to vanish. So I wrote it out again, and now have my full comment plus one that breaks off abruptly in a sentence. I don't see a way to delete comments just an edit link.

You need to click on the 'Edit' button first, then click on the 'Delete' button that appears below the edit form on the page that you'll be taken to.

Hi, I am not seeing a delete link or button when I click edit on the comment in question I want to remove, I tried this last night and today and still not seeing it on the page that comes up, all I see are the boxes to edit the comment.

After you click on the link to Edit your comment. You should now see the Subject and Comment that you have entered. After this should be a Submit button. Pass that button should be a Preview button follow by a Delete button. Let me know if you don't see this still! Thanks.

Alright, let's try this. On the page that you left your comment on. Just beneath that comment do you have the Delete, Edit and the Reply link provided to you? So don't click the Edit link. Is that there for you?

this is weird, on the page with the comment I want to delete, without clicking edit I do see a reply link, but again no delete option. However, on this forum thread, I only see an edit link for my first comment in this thread, and when I click that I do see a delete option. I just don't see edit or delete options for anything else in this particular thread.

Alex,

I've found where you were going wrong ... you shouldn't have listened to anything that I said in my first reply! <smile>

There are times, when it's getting late, when you should simply turn off your computer rather than try to get your brain to answer one more question!

So, ignore my first reply.

Things should work like this:

You can edit and delete the first post in a thread by clicking on the Edit button.

You can edit your own comments by clicking on the Edit button that appears just below them.

But, you cannot edit a comment if others have already replied to it.

You can delete your own comments by clicking on the Delete button that appears just below them.

but you can't delete if someone has already replied is that right? I don't see a delete option under my half comment, either after clicking edit or on the page without clicking it.

You certainly should be able to, and it works with my test accounts.

I'll mail you offsite to see if we can figure this out.
