Hi,
Just thinking about some work arounds for current issues, the one that springs to mind is rerouting voiceover by invoking Siri on another apple device signed into the same iCloud a-count.
I'm certain that others have found ways around issues caused by bugs or accessibility barriers that haven't yet been addressed by developers or apple themselves.
This is a post for the mods, and for the users. Would a category of 'tips and tricks' be useful for work arounds that don't fit into the other categories?
perhaps we can open this up and see what people think. I do realise that a public forum that creates plasters for work that developers should have already done might be counter productive in the long run but for those of us who need our devices to work, it might be a useful resource.

Some immediate thoughts and questions
Hi Oliver, thank you for your suggestion.
I appreciate your idea of creating a new category for tips and tricks, but I do have some concerns that I would like to discuss. Firstly, it's important to consider whether this new category should be solely for people to share tips and tricks or if it will also be a place for people to ask for tips and tricks. If it's for both, it could potentially fragment discussions across different platforms, and people might miss out on valuable information.
Moreover, if it's only for people to ask for tips and tricks, it might become confusing for users to decide where to post their questions. It could also take away from the OS-specific discussion areas, where people are most likely to find valuable information.
However, if it's only for people to share tips and tricks, my concern is whether there will be enough posts to justify a separate category. It's possible that people may continue to share tips and tricks in response to relevant discussions, as they do currently. In that case, creating a dedicated area may not be necessary.
Additionally, we should consider whether creating this new category could take away from the Guides section of the site. Although tips and tricks are likely to be shorter and more specific, they may still be better suited to the Guides section.
Oliver, I would appreciate it if you could provide more information on what types of tips and tricks you believe don't fit into the existing forum categories. This will help us to better understand the need for a separate category.
To determine whether a new category is necessary, it would be helpful to hear from people who would actively use this proposed new area of the forum to share tips and tricks. This will allow us to gauge the level of interest and ensure that it adds value to the existing forum structure.
Thank you again for your suggestion, and I look forward to hearing more details from you.
Some interesting thoughts...
Yes, I agree about fragmentation.
to Clarify, it was the second suggestion, people supplying tips and tricks to overcome issues rather than asking for solutions which already happens. My thinking was it could be a quick to access category for solutions.
Maybe what I'm actually asking for here is a flare or a tag to index all tips and tricks. There is usually so much to dig through in the forums, opinion pieces, rants (guilty of some of those myself), reviews and so on which, though interesting, don't quite get to the nuts and bolts of using our devices better.
Regarding your question about not having categories already, well, you do, IOS/Mac/Other hardware etc... However these only work as umbrella concepts for classification.
Maybe there aren't enough such posts to make it worthwhile, though I would be interested to know how other users get around problems.
