Pocket Recorder, a new app released by Sweetman Systems, is an accessible recording app that makes recording simpler than ever. Simply open the app and start recording.

The app is very easy to use, so you can either teach yourself, or read this guide.

Opening The App

The first time you open the app, this message will pop up on your screen.

"Pocket Recorder" would like to access the Microphone.

Tap the OK button.

If you accidentally tap Don't Allow, go to Settings>Privacy>Microphone and turn Pocket Recorder on.

To start recording, tap on the Record button. If you are comfortable with using Explore by Touch, the button can be found in the center of the screen.

The app will tell you that you may double tap on the Stop button when you are done, and you will hear a double beep.

You may notice that the double beep is the beep you hear when you release the home button when talking to Siri.

Stop Recording

You can stop the recording at any time by pressing the Stop Recording button, or you can press the Pause Recording button if you need to go do a quick break or something.

You will also notice that when you stop the recording, it is the doubl beep that starts the recording, followed by the first beep that Siri makes when you press and hold the home button.

Entering A Title for Your Recording

When you finish recording, a text field will pop up telling you to name your recording.

Alternatively, you can double tap with two fingers to use your voice to name the recording.

When you are done, you may press the Done button.

If you would not like to name your recording just simply press the Done button, and the recording will be named automatically with the date and time the recording was made.

Play Your Recording

Once your recording has a title, you may listen to it, or press the Back button. You can adjust how much time has passed in the recording by going over to the time bar and instead of being adjusted, you can double tap and it will go backward, or simply double tap and hold and drag.

Recordings List

The Recordings List button is in the top right corner of the screen. It will take you to a list of recordings you created, by double tapping on them you may play, rename, delete, or upload the recordings to Dropbox.

See more about Linking to Dropbox in the Link to Dropbox section of this guide.

The Settings button is in the top left corner of the screen.

In the Settings screen, you can make a few adjustments to how Pocket Recorder does things.

Link to Dropbox

You can link your Dropbox account to Pocket Recorder and Unlink your Dropbox account from Pocket Recorder at any time. Tap the Link to Dropbox button, and Pocket Recorder will ask you to allow it to open Dropbox.

Allow this, then simply login using your Dropbox account, or if you have the app, it may have you logged in already, and all you will have to do is press the Allow button. You will get an email from Dropbox saying you have connected the app to Dropbox.

Automatically Upload Recordings to Dropbox

In the Settings screen, you can choose if recordings can automatically be uploaded to Dropbox, or you can do it manually.

Start Tone and End Tone

In the Settings screen, you may choose if you want Pocket Recorder to play a tone to let you know when the recording starts, and also play one when you end the recording. You can turn this on or off at anytime.

You can choose if you want the phone to vibrate when recording starts and ends in the Settings screen as well. You may turn it on or off at any time.
