Oh wow

In reply to Ornella by DMNagel

So then when I'm planning my wedding it will automatically be a royal wedding? Or do I have to choose to have it. Also when I threw a house party not a lot of people showing up. The most so far was like 200 or so. I'm living in some kind of mansion that isn't really in the game unless if they added it now. And when I ap on support a new law nothing is happening or do I have to wait for a new popup?

When you marry someone, it will automatically be a royal wedding. When you support a law, nothing really happens. I think that's just for fun to see what kind of crazy laws there is in the game.

Royalty and,

By Ornella

1 year 9 months ago

So I finished my royal life at age 123 and this is why I don't play generations. I wanted to but guess what. All my 9 kids died before I did. Anyway, it said that out of my 7 grandchildren, 5 plus hundreds attended my funeral. The next update will be sports and its coming out in a few weeks. I'm not a sports fan but its ok.

Possible bug.

By Lindsay Cowell

1 year 9 months ago

I think there is a bug with the custom cities. I was trying to add a city in India, and it selected a completely different country, even though I selected India in the country drop down box. Has anyone else had this problem, and, if it’s a bug, what is the best way to report it?

Update time again.

I don't really play custom lives or add custom cities but if you need to report that bug use twitter. They are very active there.

Cars

By Ornella

1 year 8 months ago

So I was testing something with the maintainnce of the cars and this is what I found. 1, you will hardly or never need to do car repairs by random popups. 2, if you're lucky, you will never be in any accidents. I only ended up in 1 and finally if you keep routine work on the car every year with out skipping out, you will never need to buy another car again for that life. For more than 20 years my car stayed at 100% and after some time it would drop by 2% or so but that's how it is in real life. I think that's interesting. And I did the same thing to my house and when I kept putting more money in to my house it kept going up in value.

this update is fun

By Moopie Curran

1 year 7 months ago

Hi,
I started a game last night as a person named after a former (now retired) local news anchor in my area. I made him into a pop star. Right now he's about 30-something, and is worth nearly 55 million dollars. But I thought it was really funny when a scenario blurb popped up saying the Bitlife music association has invited him to sing in a tribute show to Whitney Houston, and it asked what song he'd sing. I think the choices were How Will I Know, Queen Of The Night, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, And I Will Always Love You. I chose I Wanna Dance with Somebody, because quite truthfully, I can't picture a guy let alone someone like him singing any of those, but... I just thought that was funny.
I had him taking kazoo lessons from age 6 to about 13, then he took voice and guitar lessons.
He was in a band for about a year, but the band would never go with his visions for the singles and albums, so he went out on his own, and has several gold singles and albums so far.

Long time no comment!

I picked up Bitlife again to try out the sports and music updates.

Took me a while to get a character that had enough athleticism to even start down the pro sports route - a female in the US that I put in soccer. I had also done music lessons with her when young to see if I could have a separate path into music star or a band if it turned out she wasn't athletic enough.

So she got into soccer, got a full scholarship into college, got a contract into US women's soccer league, etc. etc. She was up to like 90% "greatness" by the time she was around 35 and had won 3 championships. She started getting injured more easily, though, and whenever she did surgery her Fitness would drop, so I was debating having her retire next year.

... then I goofed and ruined it all.

I got a pop-up that I skimmed and thought it was a new contract proposal, so I immediately hit 'accept'. (All I heard was <team name> ... offers <money>)

Turns out it was some team wanting me to fix a match for them and I accidentally agreed to match fixing.

Boy was I surprised after I accepted it and got the police sirens.

Now she got released from her championship team and is in prison for 4 years.

Whoops?

On a side note, anyone know if there is some trick to getting high enough music skills to maybe do the band thing? I tried guitar lessons with this same character but the skill only went up like 4% or so per year and was about 45% by the time she got to college. I wondered if maybe there is some hidden musicality skill.

Try to have generous parents and start learning an instrument at age 6, or take voice lessons at age 8. You can take lessons 3 times per year.

I kind of did the same thing. In real life I'm not a sports person so I made a lot of bad choices and ended up in prison. after 10 or more years I'm still a famous athelete. Don't know if that's a bug but I kept my fame up and while I was in prison it didn't really go down. The only thing was that every time that I wrote a book it became a flop. Then I would attack people when I go on walks and end up in prison. Lol. In my next life I will do the music. I almost took a kemical boost.

Happy Holidays, dear Bitizens! We're showing up just on time with a festive, heart-warming, cheerful...MAFIA UPDATE. OK, maybe this update doesn't coincide exactly with the holiday spirit but it's what you asked for and so here it is. We had a blast making it. No pun intended.

Jokes aside, we wish you all a wonderful holiday season and thank you for everything that you've done this year to support our small team. We've got huge plans for 2021 and can't wait to share them with you in the new year!

Here's the full list of new things in this update:

• Join all types of global mafia families!
• Start as an associate and work your way up to godfather (or godmother!)
• Get ordered to pull off hits, shakedowns, and crimes
• Build and manage your notoriety and standing within your family
• Once you've proven yourself, you'll get a chance to become a "made man" (or lady!)
• Get sent for by your superiors
• Busted? Become a confidential informant and collect evidence against the family!
• Get assigned a new identity in the witness protection program!
• Identify snitches in your family and rat them out
• Contribute earnings to your family each year to stay in the godfather's good graces
• Be disloyal to your family...at your own risk!
• Extort local businesses and shake down (or whack) uncooperative individuals
• Manage your relationships with your family – seduce the godfather or whack him out!
• Assign other family members to pull off crimes for you
• Much more – and we're not just saying that, it's almost criminal how much content we've packed in this update (ahem)
• Countless bug fixes and textual refinements

In reply to getting life events to come up? by treky fan

Hi, so the age button will progress you a year older every time you hit it. Usually when you age a year, events will automatically pop up giving you choices to make. If you swipe around and explore the screen, you will be able to see the different choices.

Unable to play

By Nick Apostolidis

Hi all. So after updating to the latest version when I enter the game it says direct touch and voiceover stops speaking. All voiceover gestures don't work, can't even use the rotor to turn direct touch on and so can't play.
Any work around? Thanks, Nick

Inaccessible for now.

By DMNagel

As of recently this app is now totally inaccessible.

That's why I didn't update!

By Moopie Curran

Hi,
The new accessibility coding of bitlife hasn't come out yet, I knew that ahead of time thankfuly, so I didn't update. I rely too heavily in playing bitlife, so it was really lucky that the devs responded to my question about the update that it wouldn't be accessible. As of early February, they were about 80 percent done with the code to make it accessible again. They didn't provide a time frame though. Until then, guess I'll just tiptoe around the updates on my iPhone instead of just plowing through and pressing the update all button in the app store. Oh, well, it's a pain, but it's quite necessary, at least for me.

Accessibility is back.

By DMNagel

1 month 1 week ago

The game is once again accessible to VoiceOver users, although I find the new controls to be a bit of a learning curve. I'm still checking things out, but it would seem that the mini games are a thing of the past for us. Instead of having to go through mini games, we are presented with a results screen, similar to when it first came out. While some people may not prefer this, and would rather like to play an actual mini game, I personally welcome this change. Anything is better than no accessibility at all. At least we are now on equal ground when it comes to committing crimes. Happy playing.

This is GREAT NEWS!

By Moopie Curran

1 month 1 week ago

I just updated, and created a new life, I'm so happy it's accessible, and I no longer have to tiptoe around my updates avoiding the bitlife one. One thing I noticed, and it's a personal nitpicky preference is now when I'm customizing a life, I have to double-tap each letter when I'm writing their name. I can't use BSI or copy and paste, I think this is because bitlife now operates in a direct touch area. This is a minor problem, and I'm probably just going to have to stop my bellyaching and get used to it.
Another thing I noticed, and it's for the good now is that the choice of appearances work for people. I'm doing a bitlife of a prolific DC-based news anchor, and I was able to choose his looks based on what I've been able to gather about how he looks in real life.
I'm glad the bitlife devs listened and made it accessible again, whew, it's been a long 4.5-5 months tiptoeing around updates. :)

New version out, and...

By Moopie Curran

Hi,
A new version of Bitlife is out, and it seems accessible. It's the "street hustler" update. I'm on the computer, so I don't know how to paste the list of what's new. I figured if you care enough, you know where to look. :)

There are some subtle changes as well.

By DMNagel

4 weeks 1 day ago

For one, every music instrument now have sound. When you have generous parents and you ask them to take instrument lessons, they will often buy you the instrument. They may even ask you to take certain lessons.

My life

By Ornella

I am really enjoying the street hustler update. I'm still getting used to this version. I think they are using unity. Its something that crafting kingdom games used. So sad we can't copy stuff from our journals. Anyway, before i started a new life I was going to play my other life the good way but was just testing out bits and pieces of hustling. So if you do pan handling you make lots of money. However, if you live in a mansion or a real nice house people will rat you out. the best place to hustle is in a high traffic place and where the police presence is low. This life i'm only street hustling. I eloped with a woman and my parents got angry and i chose to beg in the streets. i don't think i will buy a house but i'm going to make lots of kids and live off of begging. Haha. Another thing that i noticed, at the doctor, you can donate blood if you like.

my life so far

By treky fan

Right now, I’m living as British royalty. I started a new life as a princess last week. I’ve just kept going, continuing on as my child each time. I want to see how far this royal family will go before it comes to an end. I think I might save this life and start a new one so I can start living on the streets. Do you have to do anything special to start doing that? As for having kids in this new life, I’m not sure if I’m going to do that.

By Ornella

For street hustling, you don't need anything special. However, i haven't tried the thing with the instruments. Like where you just go out and play an instrument and people give you money. The scamming gives you plenty money but there are different levels of it. Haven't tried all as yet. I did go out as a fire eater but didn't make much money from that. I started kind of late so will give that another try in a next life.

Any accessibility changes/fixes?

Hi guys.

Any accessibility changes/fixes in the new Street hustler update? Thanks.

The Tetris Monster

By DMNagel

Accessibility has returned. It now uses the unity plug-in. Also, VoiceOver users no longer has to do mini games.

Sorry, I should’ve explained it better

By The Tetris monster

3 weeks 4 days ago

Sorry, I should have explained myself better. I was asking if anything had been changed since they implemented the unity accessibility plug-in. It doesn’t have to be significant as I know some fixes are not included in the list of changes.

Changes

By DMNagel

3 weeks 3 days ago

There are no significant changes, although using the unity plug-in can take awhile getting use to if you haven't played with it before. For one thing, it can be a little laggy, Preventing you from browsing as fast as before. Other than that, it's all good. Accessibility is now at 100% and you can literally do any activity you want without having to worry about mini games.

being a confidential informant in the mob in bitlife

By Moopie Curran

2 weeks 3 days ago

Hi,
Has anybody been successful at becoming a confidential informant and wound up in witness protection in bitlife? My character has joined the mob, and become a confidential informant, but they haven't collected enough evidence in the 3 year period to wind up in protection. Any hints on how this can be done?
Thanks
