Nano Empire 2

Description of App

Once, nanobots gave humans godlike power to create worlds, limited only by their imagination. But now the Creators have lost control of the creations! You, a humble starship captain, are all that stands between the galaxy and destruction.

Nano Empire 2 is an incremental sandbox text adventure, featuring 30 handcrafted worlds where dreams have turned into nightmares. Endless beach parties suddenly have a leviathan problem. Crystal automata rise up against the Queen of Light. A rogue nanobot factory produces strangely beautiful horrors. A royal family of sentient trees has forgotten how to reproduce. There are also vampires, inverted merpeople, and a Great Clown Head. And of course, all these factions are at war...

Without nanobots meeting everyone's needs automatically, ship captains like you are about to become the most important people in the galaxy. Transport resources to populations who desperately need them, take sides in wars or profit from both sides, befriend eccentric creatures, grow your fleet, and maybe even research a way to undo the damage. Every world has a dramatically different vision for the future of civilization, and your choices will determine which one is successful.

You don't need to have played Nano Empire 1 to enjoy this game, but returning players will notice many recurring characters...
-Will Peter Frederick ever grow up and care about something other than partying?
-Will Zithguul the giant scorpion escape from the Petting Zoo?
-What will happen with Roland, Carla, and the ongoing conflict between the Underworld and the Core?*

Features:
-100% human-written. No generative AI was used to make this game.
-Simple and elegant resource management as in Nano Empire 1. All the storytelling of an open world space opera with none of the tedious inventory management.
-30 factions playing out a dynamic simulation of economy, war, and culture. Every action you take affects the balance of power.
-Several days of idle gameplay. Each world unlocks new activities over time as it grows.
-Collect artifacts and allies with world-shattering effects (sometimes literally).
-Over 40 possible endings! (You can experience multiple endings without having to restart the game every time. A handy Ending Tracker is included.)
-Play the complete game for free with no ads. An in-app purchase is available to unlock optional worlds and bonus resources.
-Fully accessible with VoiceOver.

*If you haven't already figured it out, this game takes place after the most interesting ending of Nano Empire: the one with the apocalypse...

Accessibility Comments

If you've played any of JSenter's other titles, from the original Nano Empire to magical mystery tour, you'll find things very similar here. Though a larger game over all with a more open world feeling, the interface is largely the same. Stats up top with location info, and ability to see more character stats, with options for what to do in that location down the bottom, all very easy. to understand and navigate.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

I beta tested this, had a lot of fun, and can't wait to try the full version.
Same quirky writing and unique galaxy, with a lot of familiar faces and places from the first game popping up again, often in new an interesting ways.

Best of all, lots more locations to visit, a longer, more incremental style of gameplay over several days, over 30 different endings to earn, and some wild and wonderful stories to tell.

if you enjoyed the first game or any of Jsenter's other titles, definitely try this.

If you're coming to this new, feel free to dive in, though since the first game takes only about four hours to play through, whilst this is a true incremental epic, why not start at the start?

Either way, if you like quirky humour, a little resource management and playing around with big scifi ideas, you'll certainly enjoy this!
