At WorldNomads.com, we have, and so we produced a series of free language guides for adventure travelers that contain a conversational language lesson with a local, plus 50 basic spoken phrases, and about 100 other useful travel phrases to help keep you traveling safely.
These Apps are based on our existing travelers language guide podcast series & now covers 25 languages including French, Spanish, Indonesian, Turkish, Japanese, Italian, Mandarin, Thai, Hindi, Lao, Arabic, Malay, Russian, German, Dutch & Nepali.
Accessibility Comments
I would never suggest learning French only by ear, but you have added issues here with VoiceOver pronouncing the French phrases. So flick through letter by letter to get the spelling and pronunciations. VoiceOver does a nice job with the accented characters though. VO says the name of the button after you push it, so it talks over the native speaker recordings: listen closely or turn VO off.
