Zapvision

Zapvision is a free application that has been specifically designated to help blind and partially sighted people scan Accessible QR codes available on product packaging.

Accessible QR codes, with their distinctive ‘dot-dot-dash’ pattern surrounding the QR, have been specifically designed to be able to be located in the camera view of your device from a long distance with ease.

The addition of audio cues helps users navigate towards the Accessible QR code once detected in the camera view.

Accessible QR codes scanned via the app at first allow blind and partially sighted people to understand the distance and category of the product from their device once detected. The user is then guided to access all the product information related to the specific product presented to them using their device's configured accessibility features, including text-to-speech, VoiceOver and font settings.

The product information itself is structured in a simple yet complete way to ensure that blind and partially sighted people have access to all the information they need related to the product.

Zapvision is ideal for use in a store location and at home and aims to make the everyday task of easy access to product information available to everyone, whatever their visual acuity.
