I'm running the Mac and IOS betas and things are going smoothly. I'd like to know the distinction between the Screen Mirroring applet in the control center and the iPhone mirroring app? I tried screen mirroring and could use it just fine. The iPhone mirroring app is not just fine. One thing it does is tell me that it can't be using the iPhone, and I need to lock it. Ok, so how am I going to mirror anything with it locked, unless that's a sort of inaccessible option to have it mirrored while it's locked? To me, that's the crucial difference, but if I need to mirror my screen and do it accessibly, I'm perfectly happy to unlock my phone. It's a bit perplexing. TiA ...

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

It appears to be incompatible with voiceover. I get exactly the same behaviour.

Screen mirroring just projects the output from a device to another device and, aside from play/pause, back and forward, the device it is projected to can't control it. iPhone Mirroring is different in that the link is taken by the mac and allows for full control of the iPhone... In theory.

Hi there, I'm not sure if others have mentioned this, but you also receive audio and notification sounds. while we have other options such as airplay, the downside is when using airplay, no notification sounds goes through your mac. however, with iPhone mirroring, you do get both audio and notification sounds, all while you're iPhone remains locked, thus allowing you to interact using your mac. As others have said, the usability is not accessible with VoiceOver at the moment. Hoping that will change throughout the beta cycle leading up to the official launch. Good luck to those that are testing it.
