Hey everyone. So I decided to give the iOS 16 public beta a try since the main release is dropping in about a month. I've been using it for a couple of days, and I am really liking some of the new features. Only problem is direct touch.
Whenever I go into an app that uses direct touch, it doesn't work properly. Swiping left and right gets stuck, and navigating just feels slow and doesn't work right. Then when I return to the home screen, voiceover wigs out, and sometimes edit mode keeps activating automatically. Then going into another app that doesn't use direct touch, like twitter or settings, double tapping on items no longer works. The only way to make voiceover work properly again is completely shutting down the phone and turning it back on. This happens with both of my only apps that use direct touch, DirecTV, and BitLife. On iPhone 13. Is anyone else having this issue and have you found a solution?
I sent Apple feedback about this via their feedback app, so hopefully this is fixed by main release.

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.
If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.
