Hi guys downloaded public beta of iOS16.2. Now every time I try to connect airplay in the audible app the app shuts down. It does connect so once reopened it works. Although, sometimes when pressing the play button it shuts or doesn't work. So not sure if this is an audible issue or VoiceOver issue. Letting people know in case other people see this.

Apple Beta Releases
Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility in the Apple Ecosystem
Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.
If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

Not VoiceOver
This is a known and widespread issue with 16.2, and not related to VoiceOver.
It reportedly affects most audio apps. I've encountered it with about 6.
Apple is going to crap
I loved apple when I came on in either iOS 12 or 13. 16 has to be one of the worse. It started going down hill in 15 and hasn't gotten better.
To be fair, this is a beta…
To be fair, this is a beta. People should not be on the beta expecting it to work. it is a test bed, not a shortcut to getting the latest features.
I'm grateful to those who do put in time, especially those who use VoiceOver, on the beta. I'm not going to go near any of them though. It's simply not worth my time.
Regarding apple going to crap, you may well be correct however, in this case a beta just being a beta isn't evidence. You certainly don't have to look far to find more substantial evidence though.
I don't expect betas to be without issues
I've beta tested many things over the years. I expect those to not work properly. They are called beta's for a reason *smile* I do expect the main release to work properly. That was what I was referring to.
Ah, I thought you were…
Ah, I thought you were talking about iOS 16.2, as the OP was talking about, which isn't out until mid December. I'm glad to hear it doesn't work for anyone, means that apple will fix it. If it were just a VoiceOver bug, I'd be less sure they'd get it sorted in time.
I agree with your sentiment though. There are many public releases that still feel like beta. I'm moving back to Alexa, siri is just terrible, not just in how limited it is, but now in how well it understands what I'm saying. Frustrating as it could have been a rapid and accessible means of interacting with our phones. Saying all that, it's still pretty amazing what we can do with our phones these days. I just don't think it's worth investing in apple's latest and greatest. You can do 95 % of what's possible on an iPhone 14 pro max on an iPhone 8, that number probably goes up for blind users. I'd probably not quite say that apple has gone to crap, though I'd say it's becoming more and more disappointing. The magic has gone... I blame Tim Apple.
Fixed in beta 2
Beta 2 fixes this for me.
Good.
Audible, BARD Mobile, Spotify... So many audio apps I rely on! Thanks, for reporting this!
