using the rotor on apple tv latest generation set top box and tvOS 17

Is there a way that I can use the rotor without the touch pad being turned on, on my apple tv remote? Is there a combination of buttons I can press that will switch between rotor items, and adjust the values of those items? Sometimes when its humid out like this in my area my fingers just don't work that well for the rotor gestures on the small remote.

Maybe try a Bluetooth keyboard?

There’s no way I know of to change the rotor without the 2 finger gesture but I assume the arrow up and left or right would work the same as they do on a iOS or Mac OS device. It’s just a guess though.
