What do you do if Apple says a bug you reported is fixed but it isn't?

Apple Beta Releases

I reported a bug in the Beta Feedback form in July 2023. Eventually the Resolution said "Potential fix identified for a future OS update." I checked my submissions again today, and that particular report now says, "Resolution: Potential fix identified, in iOS 17.1." But I just tested it out on my phone, which is running 17.1, and while the problem at least looks different, it is definitely not fixed. So my question is, do I make an addendum to the Beta feedback submission explaining that it's not fixed? Or do I make another bug report? Or, since it's now part of a stable version, do I report the bug just to Apple Accessibility?

Share Your Bug Reports with AppleVis

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

If the bug says, resolution identified, fixed in 17.1 could they mean a subset, as in 17.1.2 or .3? Just asking otherwise, Irish temper being what it is, I'd email, call, email, oh my God it'll be fixed next week! Seriously, send another diagnostic with what you say is not fixed and see if they ca pinpoint your use case and really fix it? Sorry not more help

I'd recommend updating the bug report to let Apple know that the issue is still present, with a description of the current behavior. If it is an accessibility bug, you may also wish to email Apple Accessibility describing the bug and its evolving presentation between July and now, specifically referencing the feedback ID and that despite being marked as "Potential fixed identified - in iOS 17.1," it is still present.

Covering the bases sounded like a good idea, so I did. Thanks! I'm new to testing so wasn't sure what the etiquette was. Fingers crossed, I guess!

Take a screen video (like a screenshot but video) from start to finish, plus their diagnostic log file on your device (they can give you instructions for that) and attach them to a follow up bug report, providing your attached, irrefutable documentation.

Good luck!

So, hopefully having poked multiple places will get some results. (Alas, the just-released new public beta hasn't fixed it, but I didn't think it would.) Thanks!

Americans who do this annoy me, you're not irish, you might have ansesters who lived in ireland but you are an american living in Florida who just happens to have a temper, and likes to use a stariotype, that as far as I know isn't even that true these days, as an excuse to throw your weight around.

If you actually grew up in ireland then I apologise but this stuff just irritates me for some reason.

I'm aware this post is a couple days old and don't worry :) I won't be going through every post of yours and commenting, this one just stuck out to me. The thing is; I know you probably mean nothing by it and that you and your family probably use it as a joke or something but it just sounds like an excuse to me.

let's try to keep the discussion focused on the original topic without venturing into personal commentary. Our posting guidelines encourage polite, constructive dialogue. We're sure we all have strong opinions, but it's best if we can share them in a positive way that brings our community together.

What the heck of? I just walked into?

But hey if she is actually from Ireland, that would be pretty cool, not gonna lie.
But to answer your original question if they don’t answer your feedback and fix the issue, the Raj them even more ever, as the saying goes the more the better. So if they don’t respond to the first time, the response you in the second time. And it’s not the second the third. Or the fourth. Or if you want to go to . Alright, I’m going to stop here before I literally give dictation the hardest smash and it’s in Thai life. And Jen Z I’m not talking about that type of smash. I’m talking about breaking smash

Sorry, yeah, that was really off topic.
