Hi everyone! I had a few questions regarding using visual assistance when traveling with either Be My Eyes or Aira. I had a few specific questions so sorry in advance if this is kind of long.
1) I think i've asked this before, but if I'm wearing my meta glasses and use Be My Eyes for specialized help, which camera is it using by default? I assume it's using my phone? Can I switch over to the glasses camera?
2) If you've stayed at a Hilton hotel, do you use Hilton via Be My Eyes or Aira? I feel like hilton would be good for things in the room (thermostat, coffee maker, where the outlets are, etc.) and Aira for things like where's the front desk? But want to hear your experiences.
Thanks so much! I love learning how different people use different services available to us blind folks.

Be My Eyes
I cannot speak on Aira, as I do not use it. However, you should have Be My Eyes integrated into your Meta smart glasses. So, if you have done this, you just have to say, "Hey Meta, Be My Eyes".
If you don't have Be My Eyes integrated into your Meta's, then open the Be My Eyes app on your iPhone, go to settings, and somewhere in there should be a button marked as Meta Ray-Bans. Double tapping on this, will guide you on how to pair the service with your Meta Smart glasses.
HTH.
re: be my eyes
Hi Brian,
Yes, I do have Be My Eyes linked.
I was asking about specialized help, like calling Hilton with Be My Eyes, as I know that's not a feature you an do directly from the glasses.
In that case...
In that case, Aira might work out better for your needs. I am unsure if Be My Eyes does this, but with Aira, you connect via WhatsApp, and then are given a link that connects your Meta's to the call. At that point, you are in a video call with Meta as the camera view, and can communicate from there to get your needs met.
hope this answers at least some of your concerns. 🙂
I don't use any of these survices but have a bit of a warning.
I think I read here that the Meta camra is quite bad so the BEMyEyes people will probably find it very hard to see what's around you.
Specialised help
Hi. Yes you can use Be My Eyes specialised help on the Meta glasses, though it’s a bit finicky at the moment.
You need to start the call from the app on your phone, then transfer it to the glasses. I think it’s a double click on the capture button to transfer, I don’t remember for sure.
Hopefully they’ll update it so you can start calls directly as you can with volunteer calls.
