hi all. Can anyone recommend a user-friendly manual to actually teach me the functions of my brailliant BI 20 X display. The Human Ware manual assumes the user is an experienced braille user. Their doesn’t seem to be anything for beginners. I would really appreciate some recommendations for user-friendly, beginner focused, guides on getting the most out of my display. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Advice regarding offering Help
Hi @Gailisaiah
That's great you offered to help someone with a braille display. Can I make a suggestion for you going forward?
Maybe when you send a phone number, you might want to contact the individual directly through the contact link on their user profile page. I say that only because it adds extra security to your messages because posts like this one can be searched through search engines, and who knows who might get your work number. Again, I'm not criticizing, just offering a possible alternative to help keep you and your work secure.
Best,
Scott
Thank you!
So much appreciated, Sockhopsinger! I did not know about profile pages.
Most Welcome
Heck, I may have to call you on that at some point myself soon. :) I have much the same issue. grin
I'm not sure if this will…
I'm not sure if this will help, I would think so since most of it is the same on the 20 and 40. The 20 doesn't have the 3 keys on each end of the display, but 99% of what is covered applies to the 20. Here's the download link for the tutorial from Mystic access. https://mysticaccessdownloads.com/download/brailliant-bi-40x-mp3-audio-tutorial/
I hope this helps in adition to whatever tutorial the other person offered.
You can also.
You can also do a K cord dots space and 1 3. That will open up an area where any command or dot combo you press on the display is read allowed by voice over. For example, it may say something like, "Dots 1 plus dot 3 plus dot 5 plus spacebar, turns speech on or off." Just press a B cord space with dots 1 2 to return to normal functioning. This will not tell you Brailliant commands for the display itself but rather braille display commands for Iphone.
iOS has the commands for Braille displays on the device
If you go to settings, Accessibility, Voice Ocer, and down to the section that says Commands, In this section you will find various commands that you can enter- As long as your Braille displays is connected via Bluetooth. It will provide you with a list of all the commands for your refreshable braille displays.
here is the Apple Support article that covers this topic. Hope this helps you.
