Hello apple vis,
I just got on loan a chameleon 20 by aph. Pairing with my iphone was easy and straight forward. I have been having a few issues.
First, I am experiencing slugishness when entering commands. It comes and goes with no rhyme or reason. It is more noticeable when in the braille section of voice over settings.
That brings me to the next issue. I cannot add or change braille key assignments. Here are some steps to reproduce:
1. Go into voice over settings. Settings, accessibility, voice over.
2. tap braille. At the bottom of the screen, find the device name under the choose a braille display heading. It should say aph chameleon 20 followed by the serial number.
3. Rotor to actions and select more info. tap braille commands in the menu that appears.
4. Choose a command category such as rotor.
5. Find and select the command you wish to edit.
6. Tap assign new braille keys at the bottom.
7. A message says press braille keys. The expected outcome is to press the keys you want to assign to that command. If they are in use, you should get a dialog that asks if you want to replace anyway.
What happens instead is one of two things. If the keys are already assigned, that action will be performed. If not, nothing happens. It just sits at the press braille keys dialog and the only thing you can do is to cancel.
I am about to contact apple regarding the matter. i really could use your help with this.
