Reading Brf files on IOS

Braille on Apple Products

Hi all
I have a Brf file that I would like to read on my ipad using vo and my bi14 I cannot convert the file to text as it's seb Braille so won't translate corectly.
Therefore I am searching for an app that will allow me to do this.
I have downloaded Braille Talk which cost £64 for the full version but cannot import the book from dropbox as there is no listen in Braille talk in the share options.
Any help would be great!
Does anyone know of alternatives otherwise? as we don't use NLS barred in uk and consequently I do not have a log in so cannot read the brf file that way.

BRF

If you change the BRF extension to TXT, then open the file in any text editor, you should be able to read it. All you need to do is change your output to either 8-dot or 6-dot braille so it won't translate the already translated file.

Hi all,
I have just changed the file to distext rather than disbrf and set my output to 6 dot Braille And opened the text file within the dropbox app. But I still can't read it should I use voice dream reader? Or has anyone got any ideas

Braille display?

It just occurred to me, I have been assuming you're using a braille display. Are you trying to read this file with speech? If so, I don't think there's a way you can do what you want, short of backtranslating the file, which has the potential for errors. Any option that involves speech is going to also involve backtranslation. Voice dream reader does not support BRF at this time.

Hi I do have a braille display and tried doing what you mentioned changing the output to 6/8 dot but I still can't read the file with it being SEB it won't translate correctly in DBT should I use another text editor rather than opening from dropbox
