Hi, all. I've noticed after updating to iOS 14.4 that my Orbit Reader 20 and the Kindle app aren't playing nicely. Whether or not I use automatic panning, an entire page is skipped backward or forward when I press a panning key. This happens once Voiceover is focused on the bottom of a page, and it's consistent. Before I report this to Apple, is anyone else seeing this behavior? Thanks!

RE: Turning Pages with Kindle not working IOS 14.4
Hi Teresa,
Yes, I'm experiencing the same problem. My iPhone automatically updated and now my Focus Blue doesn't turn pages correctly when panning in Kindle. It skips pages, I'm hoping this will be fixed in the next update.
Thanks
Thanks, Dolores. I'll report to Apple Accessibility. I thought my devices were going haywire. Good to know I'm not the only one. :-)
Not tested
Why aren't more people just getting betas reporting all of this? why does everything have to come out publically for the issues to surface? that's what testing is meant to be for ... breathings, report things, not wait until the release.
Not Many Braille Users
I don't think there are many who have Braille displays, and maybe a minority who have Braille displays and use the Kindle app for Braille reading. That could be one reason this glitch sneaked under the radar. That's just my guess, anyway. I do a lot of reading with the Kindle app on my Braille display, and for me and others who do the same, it's distinctly noticeable, to say the least. I can still read, but the "fix" I use is a bit awkward, so here's hoping it gets resolved ASAP. :-)
Here's My (Sort-of) Workaround
I mentioned I have a "fix" and thought I'd post it here, in case anyone's interested. I put the rotor in line mode. As I read, and the focus hits the bottom of the page, I do one more pan, which brings focus to the bottom of the next page. I immediately press the key for the next rotor item down, and then back up, and focus returns to the top of the page. Unfortunately, a lot of attention has to be concentrated on word context. If I lose my place, I just keep going back by page until I recognize something I've read before. It sounds complicated, but I love to read so much that I've gotten used to it. :-)
Teresa's Fix for Braille display not panning in Kindle app in i
Hi Teresa,
Thank you for this fix, I will try it I'm excited there is one. I agree with you and Will, these things should be tested behforehand. Apple released an update for the Mac awhile back that has similar Braille display issues in apps I use a lot. It would be nice if they asked us Braille users for our input. The problem on the Mac side still hasn't been fixed, making proofreading e-mails extremely difficult.
