I've made a little web app called Since or Until?, and I'd love some feedback from AppleVis users, particularly anyone using a Mac or Android device.
It answers questions such as: How many days until Christmas? How many days since a particular event? How many Tuesdays have passed? When will the next 1,000-day milestone arrive?
But the date calculations aren't really the point.
I built it as a small demonstration and provocation. I keep hearing that accessibility is difficult and that JavaScript makes it worse. So I decided to take one of the most notoriously troublesome controls, the date picker, and make it the centre of an accessible little application.
I described what I wanted to Claude Code, which wrote the application. I then tested it using NVDA and VoiceOver, reported problems and had Claude fix them.
The result is a single HTML file, with no libraries, no accounts and no personal information sent anywhere. You can enter a date directly using separate day, month and year fields, or use the keyboard-accessible calendar.
The whole thing is free to use, download, modify and share.
Try it here: Since or Until? on Blind Ant
I've tested it on my Windows laptop using NVDA and on my iPhone using VoiceOver. I don't have a Mac or Android device, so I'd particularly welcome feedback from people using VoiceOver on macOS or TalkBack on Android.
I'm interested in whether the calendar is easy to navigate, whether focus behaves properly, whether dates and results are announced correctly, and anything else that doesn't work as expected.
This isn't intended to be a polished commercial product. It's a small experiment in what happens when a blind person specifies, directs and tests an application built by an AI coding agent.
And, of course, it's also a perfectly good excuse to discover how many Tuesdays you've lived through.
Thanks for giving it a try!
