downgrading

Hi. If anyone knows how to hack iTunes or the iPhone 4s or iPod touch 5g to downgrade from iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2, please let me know.

Forum:

#1 not possible

Hello, It isn't possible to do this. Apple isn't signing older versions of it's firmware anylonger. You will just have to wait until the 6.1.3 - 6.1.4 jailbreak is released. I've hear that this will happen before the end of the year, so you have less than 90 days to wait. Before this happens, I anticipate that a jailbreak for IOS 7 will be released first. So, we are talking like 60 days or so. -Andrew-

#2 that is why it is called a hack

Hi. I know apple is not signing it anymore. That is why i said hack iTunes. And I can not wait another second. I am going to go insane

#3 Calling iOS 6.1.2

Hey iOS 6.1.2. Come back. Come back to me. What did I do to you that was so bad you had to run away? Please come back and whatever it was I will never do it again. Just come back please. Come back. Come back. Come back.

#4 silly

You know given Applevis's commitment to keeping things proper and official, I really don't think they're going to allow people to post hacks of any apple products as it goes against, like, everything that a reputable site is supposed to do. Try google, or one of the other Apple forums. Not saying all this to be mean, seriously...you'll either have to upgrade back to iOS 7, or stay with where you are now and adapt.

Hey sorry but it's not gonna happen. There's a lot of people out there like you but everything I'm hearing says that you just can't downgrade anymore, even if you have the SHSH blob file. It seems that you guys will have to wait for the 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 jailbreak. I heard today that it's expected before the end of the year though. The Evaders people are also working on an iOS7 jailbreak, though doubt we'll see that before around January. I gotta say though, since I updated to iOS7 I don't actually miss my jailbreak that much, you should give it a try :)

#6 proper and official, I think not

Hi. If they wanted to be proper and official, they would have to remove all parts of the site that have to do with jailbreaking because apple does not approve of jailbreaking so all the jailbreak podcasts and guides and even this forum would have to go. personally, I think apple should stop trying to block jailbreaking and except the fact that the corts have now ruled that jailbreaking is legal. And even if it was not legal I still think we should be able to do what ever we want to do with our devices because we payed for them. Just imagine if you bought a truck from ford and then ford said you could not drive it or you bought some peanut butter from craft and then craft tried to stop you from putting it on your toast.

#7 iOS 7 will not help me

From what I have read about iOS 7 the features I want apple still did not include and I can only get through a jailbreak.

#8 there are things you cannot do with a ford legally:

Just as with apple, ford has limits on what you can legally do with a care you*own*. Apple has a reasoned approach that helps to protect their consumers, carriers and suppliers. If apple changed their policy then they would also be open to all the lawsuits that would follow because some people did things that killed their devices or caused them to blow up or otherwise be ugly. It is possible through jailbreaking to bring down a network or at least let something loose that could harm people in one way or another. Android is a technical support nightmare precisely because of the rampant untidiness of the os.

#9 Hoping this won't get into another debate

I'm hoping this won't get into another iOS verses Android debate because lets face it, people have already pretty much made up their minds or at least the ones who already have those particular types of phones do. Suffice it to say unfortunately, upgrading isn't possible. I think we should just leave it at that. It sucks.

#10 Maybe

Hello Jessica, Maybe you just need some socks.

#11 socks???

Hi. Maybe I'm just dense, but I do not get the socks thing. Somehow I don't think you mean the ones you put on your feet.

I'm mostly on Jessica's team on this one. While Apple is entitled to create the controlled environment it does, it'd be crazy to suggest that jailbreaking should not be discussed here because it's not proper and official or whatever. It's fully legal for starters. I'd go further and say that Apple secretly likes jailbreaking in some ways. Jailbreakers are actually doing free non-malicious security work for Apple, uncovering exploits in the OS which Apple then patches in later updates. Also they get some great ideas for new features that get tried out in the jailbreak community. Notification centre and control centre for example were jailbreak tweaks in various forms before they were done by Apple. Jessica, out of curiosity, what jailbreak tweaks are you missing the most?

#13 what I miss

activator, bridge, iFile, iShare, sb settings, no vibrate at wake up.

#14 I forgot

Also there are others I forgot the name of. That's how long I have been without a jb.

#15 question about tweeks

Hey Jessica, What do "bridge" and "I Share" do? I'm interested in hearing more about those two.

#16 what bridge and iShare do.

Bridge is the best. It lets you put music, podcasts and ringtones in the correct sections in your iOS device without using iTunes. You can just email yourself whatever you want on your device or put it in dropbox or whatever, then you can use open in to open it in bridge and bridge will ask you if it is music, a podcast or a ringtone and then it will put it in the correct section. iShare is an app for downloading files from sendspace, but you can also upload files including music from your device.
