Good headphones

Hardware and Accessories
Hello, I am looking for a good pair of headphones. I have both an iPhone 4S and an iPad Mini, so I would like to have a pair with Bluetooth capability. However, the catch is that I have to work with a lot of PCs at college which don’t have Bluetooth capability. So, I would like to know if anyone here knows of a good model of headphones. The ideal solution would be to have a pair which could serve as both Bluetooth headphones and standard wired headphones through the use of a 3.5 MM stereo cable, which would connect to a line-in jack on the headphones, and to the headphone jack on the PC. If such headphones exist, I would appreciate knowing the manufacture and model number. Also, anything over $100.00 US is too expensive for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Dane

Good Non-Bluetooth Headphones

Hi Dane, I don't have much experience with bluetooth headphones so can't be of much help in that area. However, in terms of conventional headphones, I really like Grado headphones. The Grado SR80I has an open-backed design, allowing one to listen to audio but still hear what is going on around you. Grado makes a less-expensive version, the SR60I, as well as an iGrado model meant for use with portable electronic devices. TheSR80I's are quite durable, although after a year or so of heavy use the cords on my two pairs did become frayed. I have not had my two pairs repaired, but reviews online suggest that Grado has good customer service.

Wireeless and Bluetooth

Have you considered a pair of headphones that offer wideband audio on a PC in addition to bluetooth on your iOS device? On the PC side of things you'd plug in a USB thumb drive transmitter into a spare USB port (preferably at the front of the machine.) I have a Logitech H800 headset (which allows me to talk as well as listen) It's connected to both my PC and my iPHone and the simple slide of a switch allows me to move from one to the other. Charging is via a micro USB cable and you can listen while you charge. One charge gives about six hours of wireless listening. The headset seems pretty well made and it's possible to buy replacement batteries when they no longer hold a charge. I'm extremely pleased with my headphones and would recommend them to anyone who needs to connect to a computer as well as a Bluetooth enabled device and easily swap between the two. Amazon has the H800s for $61 so they're within your budget. Hope this helps.

Maybe Audio Technica has something. I will be surprised if you find something under $100.

Thank you
