How to Nonvisually Tell if a Bluetooth Speaker is Fully Charged

By Tina, 1 March, 2017

I have a few bluetooth speakers that I regularly use with myn iOS devices. I charge them regularly, but I am not able to see the indicator lights to let me know they're fully charged. Has anyone found a good nonvisual way, either through an app or whatever, so I can tell when these units are indeed fully charged? Thanks.

unsure how this'll work but...

Not sure how this would work but worth a shot.

First,I heard of an app that you can use & aim the camera on your device at it & it will tell you if it's on or not. The louder & more high-pitch the sound is, the closer you are to the light. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the name of this app.

This next thing is a longshot, but it's worth a try. I notice on some devices that have lights on them, when the lights are on or glowing, then they feel warm. I'd try feeling your speakers to see if you can tell that way. Because the brighter it is, the warmer. This may be weird & unorthodox, but it's worth a try. Hope this helps.

Light Detector app

I've used the light detector app for this on battery USB chargers and things like that. There seems to be a few other light detecting apps now, though. It just plays a tone that rises in pitch with more light and says some sort of percentage. Works out for flashing lights too, just cover the lights you don't want to check.

This may not be the best solution, but I find simplywaiting about 3 or 4 hours usually does the trick. You could also plug your devices into power and charge them when you go to sleep. When you get up, you can be pretty certain the battery is fully charged. I personally haven't tried the light detector apps.

Status Bar Bluetooth Battery Indicator

I use the Jawbone Big Jambox. Whether the speaker is plugged in or not, when I turn on the speaker and it syncs with the phone, I see a Bluetooth battery indicator, located one icon to the left of the iPhone's battery status, found to the far righthand side of the status line. this should be the case with any Bluetooth device. I see the same when checking the battery status on my Plantronics Bluetooth ear piece, as well.

I also see the battery level indication in the status bar, left of the phone battery indication.
