From an iPhone 6S to an iPhone 12; What Should I Expect?

Hello all.
As the title states, I am currently using an iPhone 6S, though I am soon going to be using an iPhone 12. I've done some research, and quite a lot is different. First, obviously, there is no Home button, and a lot is done with the side button instead.
I also realized that there are gestures where you swipe from the bottom edge to the top, or vice versa. I've sort of grasped these, as my mother's iPad Mini 2nd gen had similar gestures.
But do you guys have any suggestions for me, especially since I've been using an iPhone 6S for 3 years?

Hi Tunmi, The main thing I noticed with my upgrade is that the phone is faster.

When I first changed from an 8 to my 12 Mini, thought I would have a difficult time with not having the Home Button. I got the hang of the swiping up to get to home and the App Switcher. But the most helpful for me was when I made a custom gesture for these. There's a podcast here on Applevis on how do do that.

Also thanks to another podcast here, I was able to set up Face ID independently. Or you can always ask the salesperson at your store to do this for you.

I just upgraded from an iPhone 8 to a 13 Mini a few weeks ago and some of the things I found out may be helpful to you. First, the iPhone 12 has the ability to have VoiceOver produce advanced image descriptions for images you encounter when using your phone (in the camera viewfinder/camera roll, on websites, in photos other people send you, social media, etc). However, this feature isn't enabled by default and you need to download the required files from Apple before it can be used. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > VoiceOver Recognition. Here, you can initiate the download as well as customize the settings for image descriptions to your liking. There is also a "screen recognition" feature that tries to make inaccessible apps more usable with VoiceOver through OCR and machine learning but I haven't tested it yet so I'm not sure how effective it is. The second thing I found out is regarding FaceID. FaceID set-up isn't that complicated; just follow the spoken directions and make sure you're holding your phone about a foot away from your face with the camera at your forehead level. When setting up FaceID with VoiceOver on, the setting that tracks your eyes and only unlocks your phone when they are focused on your screen is turned off. If you have decent control over your eye movements you can turn this setting on for added security but FaceID can work regardless of if you can control your eye movements or not. Also, your phone will require you to enter your passcode if it sees you are wearing a mask when initiating FaceID (the only workaround I know of is not using FaceID at all or getting an Apple Watch and using the "unlock with Apple Watch" feature).
