Tempo Disc Bluetooth Thermometer and Hygrometer and Dew Point Sensor and Data Logger. Ultra Small Wireless Monitor for Tem

I understand from the manufacturer that they have several blind users in the UK who are using this device and associated app with VoiceOver. I'm just wondering how accessible the app is with VoiceOver and what data I can read and settings that I can manage within the app.

Thanks for sharing any experiences with the app.

The first sentence in your post should be enough for you to check into this, I think. If not, write to the developers to find out.

Well I guess I was looking for someone who had direct experience with VoiceOver since most developers have no idea how that works. It would be nice to know what data is accessible or not and how well this app functions with VoiceOver. Just because they do have some blind users doesn't mean they are necessarily happy with it!

If No One Can Offer Experience

By Roxann Pollard

Hello Peter. I'm thinking that, if no one can offer you their experience, you could purchase the device, download the app and try it out. If the app is broken and you can't otherwise utilize the Bluetooth device, you can always return it before the return window closes. Also, before purchasing the device, perhaps you could download the app, even if there is a price tag attached to it, and see if it is at all accessible. If not, then request for a refund. Here's to hoping all of it works well for you. I would like a device like this one. Never knew there was even the possibility of this device. Glad you posted here.

Roxann,

Yes, if I don't get any specific feedback from actual VoiceOver users I will probably purchase the device and decide whether to keep it based on how accessible it is. At least it should be possible to return it if it doesn't work out.

BTW, I did download the (free) app, but without any device or data to show there wasn't much I could tell about accessibility with VoiceOver.

If I do get the device I'll post back with my findings.

Thanks.

Hi.
Did you ever buy this device? I am looking to buy a thermometer hygrometer and was curious about any experiences with such devices. Thanks.

yes I did purchase the device.

The app is accessible with Voiceover but sometimes a bit confusing. Not hard to get used to, however, so it isn't really a problem.

I am now easily able to monitor the temperature, humidity, and dew point of the device real time.

In addition, you can export the accumulated data over time to a spreadsheet and it gets mailed to you as an attachment. Nice for viewing longer range trends.

You can set the time increment for adding data to the log. I have mine set to log data every hour.

The device is the size of a half dollar (small coin) and I currently have it inside the lid of my piano to mostly monitor humidity - We don't want our pianos drying out!

anyway, I am pleased with the purchase, use of the device, and the app.

Just FYI, I am running iOS 14.3 on an iPhone XR.

enjoy.

Sensor Push

I haven’t tried the devices asked about here but I have used Sensor Push sensors to monitor my humidors. I can confirm that they are completely accessible and easy to use and calibrate.
