wireless headphones that work with an iPhone as well as other devices?

By Troy B, 25 December, 2020

I'm looking for a set of wireless headphones that I can use with my iPhone SE 2020 as well as with other non-Apple products. I have an Apple e-gift card that I want to use to make the purchase so the headphones will need to be sold in the Apple store, but I'm not that familiar with wireless technology so will I need to get something that is bluetooth and if yes will whatever else I want to use the headphones with also need to have bluetooth capability?

Oh the gift card is worth $75 and if possible I don't want to go much over that as far as out of pocket money, maybe $50 tops meaning that I'd rather not pay more than about $125.

Thanks.

Hi. Apple's Airpods which are bluetooth, will run you around 150 I think. It's worth it, although I don't have the latest generation. Whatever else you want to use, must have bluetooth that's the only way it will work. You might want to look at referbished headphones. It's not as gross as it sounds. Referbished just means maybe someone opened them and didn't want them, so they returned it. apple will repackage them, now they have to sell as referbished. Other then that, i'm not sure what else for headphones apple sells. sorry I'm not more help Merry Xmas

Beats Flex

For $50 (I think) Beats Flex are a great deal. They're technically not fully wireless like AirPods, but they work well with Apple devices because of the W1 chip. They connect to your iPhone through Bluetooth. They can also be used with other Bluetooth devices easily. They don't have all the fancy bells and whistles (like noise cancelation) but from what I've heard, the sound and battery life are good for the money. They are sold on the Apple store so you can use your gift card. Hope this helps.

Yes, Beats Flex would be a good choice if you're on a budget like that. I just got them for both my parents for Christmas and they seemed excited by them. I had their predecessors, the Beats X and loved them! If I didn't already have AirPods Pro I'd definitely be looking at them.

They are the type of bluetooth headphones that go behind your neck, which is a lot less common now that true wireless BT ear buds are everywhere. One thing I love about them is that you can wear them around your neck all day so they're right there when you need them. One thing the Beats Flex do that the X didn't is they pause whatever you're playing when you put the headphones together with the magnets (this is how they will be just hanging around your neck if you're not using them). They also charge via Usb C.

thanks
