i lost my jailbreak and am trying to get it back

Hi. I have an iPhone 4s running 6.1.3. It used to be on 6.1.2 and jailbroken. I tried to keep it on 6.1.2 so that I would not lose my jailbreak but it was bricked and would not turn on. So I had to restore it with iTunes. I have been reading some stuff on the internet trying to figure out how to either jailbreak 6.1.3 or downgrade to 6.1.2 and jailbreak. From what I can tell, it looks like older devices running 6.1.3 can be downgraded or use a 6.1.3 tethered jailbreake but the iPhone 4s can not take advantage of either option. If I am wrong, please tell me how to downgrade or do a jailbreak for 6.1.3. evasi0n does not work on 6.1.3 and I read that they are not going to update evasi0n until iOS 7 is out because they did find some exploits that would work on 6.1.3, but do not want to waste the exploits on a minor iOS update and then have apple patch the holes before they release iOS 7, which will be a more major update. I also tried to jailbreak or downgrade with redsn0w, but it does not support the iPhone 4s for downgrading or jailbreaking. Then I downloaded iOS 6.1.2 from ipswdownloader.com and put it in the software updates folder in iTunes and then restored my phone. It installed 6.1.3 again, not the 6.1.2 ipsw that I had put in the software updates folder. I do not want to wait for iOS 7 to come out. I googled the release date and found out that it will not be released until September. Please help if you can. Also, if you know anybody who may be able to help me, please forward this email to them and give them my email address, which is jessicabrown531@gmail.com. Thank you.

#1 I don't see the point

I don't really see the point in what you are doing to be honest. I know a few people who have tried jailbreaking iPhones before, and non of them have worked. Quite recently 1 of my mates tried jailbreaking his iPhone 5 and it worked fine for about 3 days. It then became brick and he couldn't even restore it with iTunes because it had caused a hardware error. He had to take it to this phone shop and get it repaired their and was left without a phone for a good few days. Just stick to a normal iPhone, its not worth the risk.

#2 YOUR JB

Hello, I'm afraid your thoughts and everything you have read are true; you will have to wait until IOS 7 comes out and they find a way to jail break it before you will be jailbroken again. As for Callum's comments. I have been jailbroken since Feb when the JB was released and have never had any issues. If an individual knows what they are doing; jailbreaking your phone allows you to do things with it that you cannot do unjailbroken. Your friend obviously didn't know what he was doing if the phone got screwed up after 72 hours. Jailbreaking your phone takes hours of research and internet reading and searching to find out about the process and educating your self. Until you have experienced jailbreaking your phone; you have no idea what your missing so please do not assume it isn't worth it. Sorry Jessica. -Andrew-

#3 the same boat

is the one I float on. had to upgrade to the latest version of IOS because of the troubleshooting that I needed to do. note,it had nothing to do with jb at all. and I know it because the issue I was faceing is still around. most probably a hardware problem, but I digress. Just like jecika, if anyone ever comes up with something to fix us poor people before september I'd be interested. and I'd like to second everything that andru stated, however I didn't have to do a hole lot of research just understand what the process of jalebreaking was. with the ivasion jb,the process was so simple that even a 9 year old could follow what to do and not mess it up. But of course, the same 9 year old could do stuff with the jalebroken iphone which could break the jb up.but a 9 year old shouldn't be using a jalebroken iphone in the firstplace. :D falcon-wings

#4 down grading to 6.1.2

Follow the steps below to perform the downgrade. Supported Devices • iPhone 3GS • iPhone 3G • iPhone 4 • iPod touch 4G • iPad Original • iPod touch 3G Requirements • iOS 6.1.2 SHSH blobs – This is very important, you will need it on your computer. • iOS 6.1.2 iOS IPSW File – Download it from our iOS download page. • Snowbreeze – Download it from our Jailbreak Download Page. • Windows machine – Most of the downgrading tricks don’t work on Mac. Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.2 using Sn0wbreeze • Extract Sn0wbreeze and run it As an Administrator. • Click on the Blue arrow in the bottom right. • Now browse for the iOS 6.1.2 firmware file. • Sn0wbreeze will detect your device using the IPSW file. Click on the Blue button again. • Now click on iFaith mode, Click OK and browse and select iOS 6.1.2 SHSH blob file. • Sn0wbreeze will start building the custom iPSW file, it will be placed on your desktop. • Once done, follow the steps on sn0wbreeze to put your device in DFU mode. This is very important use sn0wbreeze to put the device in DFU mode or it may not work. • Once done, close sn0wbreeze and open iTunes. • iTunes will detect your device in recovery mode, press and hold Shift and click on Restore. • Select the iOS 6.1.2 IPSW file created by Sn0wbreeze, it will be on your desktop. • If everything goes well, iTunes will restore your device to iOS 6.1.2 without any problem. All done, since you have used sn0wbreeze. Your device will be pre-jailbroken no need to run evasi0n jailbreak

#5 that will not work for me

i have an iPhone 4s which is not supported on that program and i also do not have the 6.2 shsh blobs. Is there anything else i can try?

#6 Hi Jessica. Bad news I'm

Hi Jessica. Bad news I'm afraid. It's not going to be possible. Even if you did have the SHSH Blobs you still can't downgrade the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. Unfortunately you're stuck on 6.1.3 ") Calum, you're so wrong :) Millions of people jailbreak and are very happy with it. I'd be as upset as Jessica if this happened to me. It gives you great customisation options and control over your phone. It's not for everybody of course, but works great for many.

#7 You can't jail brake

At this time there is no way to jail brake 6.1.3 at this time. When iOS seven comes out You might be able to jail brake.

#8 It feels like it is taking for ever.

Ok. So iOS 6.1.3 has been out for months and months and there is still no jailbreak for it. I know they were waiting to put out a 6.1.3 jailbreak till iOS 7 came out so Apple would not patch the exploits and make them un-useable in iOS 7. However, iOS 7 has been out for weeks now so they should be able to put out the 6.1.3 jailbreak now with no problem. But they have not. There is also no iOS 7 jailbreak. Grrrrr! Come on!!! Hurry up already. Sorry for all the rambling, but I am really getting sick and tired of waiting. When I was jailbroaken on 6.1.2 it was very easy to get stuff done on my iOS devices. Now certain things are very hard or impossible to do. For example, getting files on and off my devices is a nightmare. I want iFile and Bridge and activator and stuff like that back. I watch the iDownload blog and stuff like that on twitter and I check it about 1000000 times a day to see if a jb is out yet? You can bet I will be one of the first people to download it. Well, by for now from stuck in jail Jessica.

#9 Jail Break

Hello Jessica, The official jailbreak team is not working on a IOS 6.1.3 jailbreak. There are others, not official, that are working on this jailbreak but I would not personally trust those when they are released. Unfortunitly you will probably have to wait until apple releases IOS 7.1 before the jailbreak team will release a jailbreak for IOS 7; if they have a jailbreak for IOS 7 available. We have no official confirmation from the official jailbreak team that apple has not patched all of the exploits that they have available for a working jailbreak. I follow I Phone Hacks.com; I have found that this site follows the official jailbreakers pretty heavily and if there is any official news that they put out, they are usually the first to report it. Unless you actually follow the three members of the jailbreak community on twitter. We will have to just continue to be patient and wait. I have not upgraded to IOS 7 yet in an effort to preserve my JB. Once they official JB team has announced a working JB for IOS 7 I will go ahead and upgrade to 7. -Andrew-

Look it up. IOS 6.1.4 can be jail broken. If you can find the 6.1.4 file for your iphone, download that and get the jailbreak. PS: LOOK IT UP BEFORE DOWNLOADING TO CONFIRM!
