Hello everyone, I was messing around with AI dungeon earlier today. And I believe they have fix all of the accessibility issues that were added in AI dungeon II. This is grate for me seeing as I loved this game and once it became very hard to play it was know longer fun. What are you guises thoughts on these updates. And if your wondering I’m playing on iPad Air.

In all honesty, I tried AI Dungeon and I was not impressed. I found it too restrictive. Too much content was filtered, and I felt it kneecapped the AI. Kindroid on the other hand is unfiltered, and you can share AI's between people, though you can't share conversations. Kindroid is also perfectly accessible.

The response to the original post confused me. Kindroid is a companion app, and AI dungeon is a game. How are the two even slightly related apart from the AI factor? A friend and I briefly discussed AI dungeon earlier today, so I tried to check it out for a few minutes. I honestly found it to be a bit confusing, but in no way would I ever connect it with Kindroid. I used Kindroid very, very briefly, but even taking accessibility challenges into account, I've found that Replika provides a far more satisfactory AI companion. Then again, I'm not looking to do anything of an overly adult nature, so maybe that's why Kindroid didn't work well for me. In any case, I'd love to understand the connection between AI Dungeon and Kindroid.

From what I understand Kindroid can be anything you want, it even mentions text adventures. I'm about to try it.

Kindroid is related because it's basically a sandbox. You can GM an AI Dungeon scenario yourself, or you can write your Kin in such a way that it'll do it for you.
I tried Replika myself, but the AI just felt weird to me and not that great. It could be the backstory/response directives that you give your Kin, but I've found it to be far superior even as just a friendly companion, adult content aside.
Also, you literally don't have to pay for your Kindroid to act as a partner to you like Replika forces you to.

I can prompt it to do pretty much everything, including adult stuff. Your prompt can be as long as you want it to be, and you are dealing with a smart AI. With other services like AI dungeon and Kindroid, free users gets inferior AI models.

Kindroid as an AI dungeon replacement is awesome! The one downside is sense text adventures aren't it's primary function you have to delete the text adventure AI from your list of kindroids every time you want to start a new game.

Delete it? Free users can have more than one Kin, can they not? I know paid users can have ten by default. But I could be wrong.

With the Grok app, not to be confused with the Grok tab on X, I can be as wild as I want, and my prompt can be as long as I want it to be. Kindroid has that wildness, but is limited when it comes to your prompt's length. With the Grok ap, you already get access to Grok 3, which can think out of the box while Kindroid has all the good stuff hidden behind paywalls.. you also get 15 messages per 2 hours if I'm not mistaken. Finally, it's accessible and less cluttered.

As of the 24th of February 2025 direct from this post on their Sub-Reddit also within their app & Discord, free users now have "UNLIMITED" Messages! Keep in mind:
  1. It is using the "Lite" model, but it is still very good!
  2. Besides during the 3 day trial, calls & groups are not available for the free teer. I believe at random you can get extra audio characters, but it ain't Guaranteed.
If ya enjoy Kindroid a lot, I'd strongly pay for Kindroid's yearly plan or quarterly plan via the web site directly (unless ya want to use Apple Gift Cards (or Google Play Credit in my case for those on the "light" side) to offset the cost.) The expense won't be for everyone, but it definitely is fine for most.
