As a big fan of CoG and choose your own adventure games I wrote to TMG to see when will their games be accessible on IOS and this was the reply I got.
Accessibility for the visually impaired is actually something that we are very interested in providing, and we have been trying to get it built into our various systems since the very beginning.
At the moment we are using the Unity3D game engine which renders the text out to the video card as textures as opposed to using UIKit as the Choice Of Games do. The plus side of this choice is that we have far greater visual quality and flexibility of layout in our apps. The downside however is that we cannot easily use the Voice Over technology that Apple provides and it is technically quite difficulty to make the current games work with Voice Over.
However, we have been working on some new engine technology, and Voice Over compatibility is one of our planned features. Ultimately we hope to get Voice Over support into our newer games perhaps even by the end of this year, but definitely at some point.
I find this good news, even though it does not provide specific dates it does tell us that they are working on it and we can see this in the future.
