Adding recorded message in messages app

By peter, 28 August, 2021

iOS and iPadOS

It used to be possible to include a recorded message in the mesages app using Voiceover.

somehow in iOS 14.7.1 I can't figure out how to get to this option any more and make a recording to be sent via text.

Any ideas or reminders?

thanks.

The button appears if all recipients are using Apple. All of my contacts using Apple have their phone identified as iPhone in the list of contacts.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize that all of the recipients needed to have iOS devices. I see now by checking several message threads that this is true and actually do see the "record" button when all of the recipients are on iOS.
