Am I missing anything significant?

Hi everyone! Two days ago I have bought a brand new iPhone SE2. The thing is that I don't have and will not have a mac device. Am I missing anything important besides continuity integrations?

Mac

Hi,

From my experience, a MacOS device isn't so much an iPhone accessory as it is its own device with pros and cons. I got a MacBook Pro because my Windows laptop was failing me and haven't looked back since. If you are in urgent need of a laptop, you can get a MacBook now if that's what you prefer, but a MacBook is by no means a small purchase.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Maddy

Why would you think a Mac was necessary? It means a learning curve with voice over. although there are some differences, things like how files are deleted, the way things are set up such as mail and Facetime are easy enough. I'm not going to tell you to get one. That's your choice. If you need more help just let me know.

So you say that iPhone can function just the samae without a Mac?

my opinion

Of course, if you want a mac go for it, but your iphone will work exactly the same. And, in case you need a new computer, my opinion and experience is: just buy a windows based computer. It is cheaper, more responsive, and you can do whatever you want.
I own a mac as well, and it seems to me that, while voiceover on ios works better each year, the opposite happends on mac os.
Just an opinion, everybody has their own needs, so in any case, if you can, try a mac before purchasing. I know a lot of blind individuals who love the iphone and hate the mac, selling their new mac two months later, installing windows on it and never using mac os again, etc.

No, you're not missing any features by not buying a mac.

An iPhone is a phone and a Mac is a laptop. As of right now those are still separate product categories and should be thought of as such. As previous posters have said, if you need a laptop, trying out both a Windows machine and a Mac before coming to a purchasing decision would be very beneficial. I myself had experience with Windows and knew the basics of MacOS before deciding to switch, and that was one of the best choices I ever made. To be clear, that is definitely not going to be the same for everyone, and it might not be what you come to. Laptops are expensive, and careful consideration should be made before purchasing one, regardless of the OS. Hope this helps.

I bought an IPhone 6s in May 2019.
I don''t have a mac and that's perfectly okay.
mac and IPhone are 2 different products, though offered by the same company. :)
I'll consider mac when it's a bit more stable and affordable in India.
:)
the Macs here are way too expensive. I wanted to consider one for next year as I'll move to college.. but then apple's move to ARM-based chips made me rethink. I'll give it 4-5 years and till then probably buy a new windows laptop. :)
that's my own opinion :)

If you are considering a new Mac I would say wait for the new Macs with the Apple chips.

They are hoping to run many of the apps in the App Store on the new Mac. At that point I think the Mac will become a much better machine.
