Hi,
My announce calls feature doesn‘work anymore. It is activated on my iphone and I have already restarted it several times. I am using IOS18.2. My airpods have the software 7B21. Is there somebody else who has the same problem?

Me too
I am running iOS 18.2 on an iPhone 15 Pro. Announce Calls has stopped working on my phone even though I have all the settings turned on. However, it continues to announce calls on my meta Ray-Ban glasses and on my Apple Watch.
Not sure how to fix this.
Work around
go to settings, accessibility, Siri, and enable notifications. Then turn on the notification for phone. Now, whether VoiceOver is on or not, when somebody calls you, Siri will announce that person.
It is not perfect by any means, but better than nothing.
This doesn't work for me either
Has anyone reported to apple?
Voiceover
Hi,
I've found that it works just fine when voiceover is off, but as soon as you turn it on, it stops. I'm guessing it's a feature rather than a bug, because voiceover will say something at the same time anyway, and may or may not say the name of the person calling.
Work around hasn’t solve the problem for me
I have phone notifications turned on under the Siri option for accessibility. However, my phone still does not announce calls when VoiceOver is on. As I said, it’s not a huge issue for me because my watch will announce the call. I wonder if there is some conflict because both my Watch and iPhone are set to announce notifications.
Maybe, it’s time for me to contact Apple.

Re: Workaround
It sounds like there is a conflict. Try disabling notifications for phone, under settings, notifications. Then try enabling notifications under Siri, by going to settings, accessibility, Siri. Do this only for the phone app. You can try other notifications later, but for now just do it for Phone.
See how it works once you get a phone call, with normal notification disabled and only notifications enabled for the phone app.
HTH.
This is never worked for me
To my knowledge, this feature has never worked for me. I always figured it was probably because I had VoiceOver on, but I just did a test having my friend call me with voiceover off, and Siri still said nothing.
Siri is enabled (though “hey Siri” is disabled).
Announce calls and announce notifications are both enabled in Siri settings.
Not sure if it matters, but further down in Siri settings, there’s just a generic allow notifications, which is quite confusing considering those other two settings, but for the sake of completeness, I’ve got that turned on, too.
I went into the notifications settings for the phone app and make sure it’s notifications are on.
I do not have focus mode on, and I do not have my phone silenced.
I’ve tried both with my new AirPods 4 and my older AirPods 2 but no Siri call announcements, no matter what I do. iPhone SE, third generation
Re: Siri phonecall announcement
Please share the steps you performed to enable this feature? There are 3 versions of this, one is under Settings, Apps, Phone. Settings, Siri also has this control. The one we want is under Settings, Accessibility, then Siri under the General heading. There is a button labelled "Announce Notifications on Speaker".
Turn this on, then swipe right once and double-tap on Announce Notifications. There are a few options for this feature:
• Reply Without Confirmation.
• Announce Notifications From... (Swiping to the right will name everything you can have a Notification for, including Accessibility Settings)
So, now if you want the Phonecalls to be announced, keep swiping right until you find, Phone, and double-tap until it is turned on.
Back out of these settings when you are done selecting whichever applications you want Siri announcing. Optionally, reboot your iPhone by activating Siri and saying, "Siri, reboot."
HTH.
