one of the biggest things I loved about iphones is how you only get the notifications on the lock screen that you got when the screen is locked, E.G. If I locked the screen and got 2 whatsapp notifications, I only get shown those, there is no clutter of 5 other notifications from 5 hours ago that I already saw, however, I think since ios 26, this changed, there is the new notifications section, and under that, all, the, time, I get shown the whole notification center, this is really annoying, because I need to always go out of my way and clear all notifications, potentially when I don't want to, before being able to read all the lockscreen notifications in peace, thanks to the fact the more items are there, the more voiceover focus starts doing gymnastics.
so my question is, is there a way to turn this off somehow?

Try changing the 'Display as' setting under Notifications
Try going to Settings, Notifications, and changing your notifications to be displayed differently. For example, if you use List, try Count, or Stack, and so on.
