Can not get the yahoo account set up under the mail accounts under settings

iOS and iPadOS

It started this morning by the mail app on my IPad telling me it could not get the mail from my yahoo account. So, I tried retyping my password in my account settings and that didn't work. So, I deleted the yahoo account from the IPad and attempted to set it up again. I did choose yahoo as the account, and I did enter the email address and password. I did hit the sign in butten. After this, the problems really begins. I get dumpt in to a yahoo page, within my setting app. This pages tells me that something went wrong and to try again later. What is going on there? Why would I see a yahoo page from the setting app on my IPad? I am running IOS 9.0.2.

Happens once in a while.

Hello,

This occurs to me once in a while. The mail app would tell me unable to access the yahoo server. I leave it alone and check mail in about an hour or so then it works again without making any changes. This would occur on my iPhone and iPad. The only explanation I could think of it’s either a connection issue or server hiccup.

HTH and good luck.

Addendum.

Hello,

In your case, the server may be having issues when you tried to check for mail. You deleted the account then tried to set it up again. With a server issue still present, the account could not be setup. Settings, using IMAP, was having problems so it redirected you to the Yahoo site.

Try setting up your account again in about an hour or so and post again if it does not work.

HTH and good luck.

Fixed for now and is currently working

Ok. I just tried setting it up again and it worked. It did seem strange on my end. LOL. Anyway, thanks a bunch. I guess I was hoping that it wasn't the update to IOS 9 a week or two ago. Then again, was it more than that. LOL.
