can't check into foursquare

Hi. Since I recently update Foursquare, now I can't seem to check in anywhere. It keeps giving me instructions on how to enable app refresh. When I hit the "I got it" button, it goes back to the main menu so then I hit check in again and same thing. Ideas?

Hi I did the update last Friday but really I didn't like it, but the reason was because again showed up to me location service trackin always on the startes bar how ever I didn't have problem to check on it to your information I use a iPhone 5S running iOS 7.1 what kind of device and iOS are you running? also could you try re/installe the app. maybe it could work for you.

I have an iPhone 5 with IOS 7.1. Guess I'll have to turn on background app refresh for this to work.
