I'm continuing to have WiFi connectivity issues. It either drops completely, where it says 5G ultra capacity, or things are just slow to load until I turn WiFi off, even when it's showing full bars of signal.

It can't be the router. We've had it since June and have no problems up until one of the iOS 27.2 betas, I can't remember which. Everything else works fine -- iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

Any tips? For now i just turned it off.

You mention there were "no problems up until one of the iOS 27.2 betas".

Have you ever tried resetting your iPhone's network settings? To do this, you would go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Be careful to reset only the network settings. Don't choose any of the other reset options (unless you know what you're doing).

The wifi issues I've experienced with my iPhone 16 Pro have been going on for much longer; they started while it was still running iOS 18 and didn't go away when I updated to iOS 27. The iPhone would sometimes lose its wifi connection despite a strong signal. It would not automatically reconnect to wifi when I got home. Sometimes it would not connect unless I went to Settings > Wi-Fi. Sometimes the status bar would change back and forth between 5G and the wifi symbol every two seconds.

Things have improved recently and I'm not sure why. I'm also not overly confident that those issues won't return.

Here are a few changes I made to the router or access point that might be worth trying if they apply to your setup as well:

- Change the wifi from a hidden SSID to a visible one.
- Change the wifi from "WPA2/WPA3 Personal" to "WPA3 Personal" only. (Our wifi access point supports multiple SSIDs, and we now have one with WPA3 security and another one with WPA2 for older devices.)
- Install 27.2 final instead of a beta

Try the following:

  • Go to Settings, Wi-Fi.

  • Focus on your selected Wi-Fi, swipe up or down until you find, More Info, and double tap.

  • Swipe past the, Forget Network, option until you find, Low Power Mode. If this is enabled, disable it. Swipe right a little further until you find, Private Wi-Fi Address. There are typically three options when you double tap on this; Off, Fixed, and Rotating. Try the different options and see if any of them work for you.

HTH. 🙂
