What is the current accessibility status of I Heart Radio? I have tried to set up an account on it and found the process difficult at best. There were some discussions of this in 2010, which seem to indicate that it worked but was difficult to use. Are there alternative apps that cover a similar number of stations but are more accessible? I would pay for a more accessible app if it were current and competitive.
When I try to connect through Google, I can’t make Voiceover read the screen well enough to make that work, although I supposedly have an account I can use through Google, which I set up using a computer. I really hope the DOJ puts out website and app accessibility regulations in 2018 and someone makes I Heart Radio work better than it does but that topic is probably best left for another discussion, which I do not intend to initiate at this time.
Thank You,
Mike Hanson

Works Well
It works well for me everything seems to be labled. I don't remember the set up process I might have signed up with facebook or something.
app
Ok. I have Iheart Radio & I thought it was easy to create an account. But I did it with the app directly with Iheart not with secondary accounts (Google, Facebook etc)
I'd try that & see how it goes.
I'm really hoping there is accessibility regulations soon also!! They have a little regulations in the ADA. that say that any web site with a .gov domain have to be made accessible. The sad thing is, I have the most issues with those sites. Come on government get it together!
Anyway, try setting it up with the app, & get a separate account & see if this works. I find the app to be very accessible. Just write down your password because changing it is not very accessible. It's a captcha & it's 1 of those select the image that is a type of building )in this case a storefront.) And I had to have sighted help, because voiceover wouldn't read the captcha or let me select the appropriate image! So we had to turn off voiceover! GRRRRRR!!!!
I know this isn't probably what you wanted to hear, & I know that you probably didn't want to remember another password, but in my view, that'd be the most accessible way to do it. Good luck & hope this helps! you!
ADA has nothing to do with this
I signed up with IHeart radio using Facebook. Everything is labeled and it's fine. The ADA won't really do anything with IHeart. If your not happy with how IHeart is working, try Pandora radio and take that for a test spin.
Setting up an account
It's been a long time since I made a account on iheart but when I did I just logged in with facebook. Don't think I needed any help. Iheart app works well for me as far as accessibility.
