Hi all,
I use the IOS native messaging app for text messages. On my iPhone XR, which was running the latest iteration of IOS 14. In any conversation, after tapping edit in the top right corner, there was a select all button. By tapping the select all button, I could delete all of the messages in the conversation, without deleting the entire conversation, or going through each message one at a time. This was especially useful for the conversations I had pinned.
I recently updated to an iPhone 13 Mini, which also meant an update to IOS 15. I'm currently using IOS 15.2. The select all button seems to be missing in the messages. Is there a way I can quickly select all of the messages in a conversation for deletion, without going through each message one at a time, or deleting the entire conversation?
Thanks,
Mel

It looks like
Looks like you have to delete the conversation altogether, I would suggest that you save the numbers in your contacts, because when I try to select messages inside a conversation, you only have the option to delete it one by one, thereās also multi select, by using the rotor to find the more button, since there is no point on keeping the conversation inside messages with no messages inside the conversation. Just save the number in your phone contacts, double tap on the number and select info to add to contacts. If you were thinking about deleting all messages inside the Messages app, thereās an edit button at the top right corner, there was not a select all functionality at the first place, maybe it was available in iOS 14.8, I have never seen the select all button ever.
If you swipe up or down youā¦
If you swipe up or down you can delete the conversation, but I don't think there's a way to delete messages within the conversation.
Here's how
There is
You just have to go to the message conversation and use a one finger swipe up until you hear the word more, that way you can select messages to delete
