Hi all.
I know there's at least one other person here using Dexcom, I'm on G7 in case it matters, running an iPhone XR.
I'm wondering if a newer phone would be better with the app. I didn't use it for a bit because I had no sensors. Today I'm back with it, and the phone seems slower. Also I was playing Dawncaster for awhile and it would periodically slow to a crawl, and when I got done and opened the app, the phone had lost signal. I feel like this happens pretty regularly, which is weird because I don't see what Dawncaster has to do with a Bluetooth connection.
Would a newer phone be faster and, probably more importantly, not lose connection randomly because of running a program that has nothing whatsoever to do with Bluetooth? I want to get a new phone atsome point, but if there's a big improvement to be had I'll worry about it sooner rather than later.
I'm a bit skeptical because I'm also using an Apple Watch Se2 I think, and you'd think it would have better Bluetooth, since it came out in 2022 I think and the XR came out in 2018/19. But that has issues fairly regularly too. So I figured I'd ask about the phone, in case anybody had any input. If it won't really change that much then I can wait longer to get one. I'd also hate to assume it would, get one, and then be disappointed when the exact same issues show up.

Hey, I am using an iPhone 16, and have the same issues, where connection will just randomly be lost. Same on my watch. So, it's not just your phone. I feel like it's better on g7 than it was on g6, but still a bit of an annoyance.
Thanks!
Well, maybe at least stuff will be faster on a new phone. But good to know I don't have to worry about rushing to upgrade.
I mean, there are plenty of…
I mean, there are plenty of other reasons you will want to do that at some point, but the dexcom experience isn't one of them.
Oh absolutely.
I'm planning on updating as soon as I can manage it. It's just that the Dexcom thing is annoying and probably something to fix as much as possible, so if it mattered, I'd work harder on upgrading sooner. But now if I go, "I need a guitar support instead of this footstool", I can get one, and not put it off because everything needs to go toward the new phone.
