Disabling proximity censor in whatsapp in iOS 15.4

Hi,
Is there a way to disable the proximity sensor? It's most problematic in whatsapp, it keeps routing voice messages I receive and try to listen to through the earpiece instead of the speaker. The way I grip my phone, I guess my hand sometimes covers the sensor, and it thinks I want the audio through the earpiece, which trust me, I never do. I have this feature disabled under accessibility, I mean the auto switch to speaker in call, I have that disabled, because in my opinion, it's more of a hinderance than a help. Can I disable this in whatsapp, or better yet, globally?
