Hi all
The latest facebook update on IOS has completely broken accessibility for voice over. I am currently using IOS 18.4 Beta two, and my facebook app was working fine until I updated to the latest version. You can no longer even paste any composed text on the edit box.

Weird!
If I'm on a post and try to respond to a comment, things are still broken. In other situations, I *think* the edit box might be back to normal, but my typical use case is responding to pre-existing comments, and at least the first time I tried it after the new update, it was still broken. In what context are all of you who are saying everything is fixed posting comments? If I encounter a post today that has comments I want to respond to, I'll give it another try, but today is a busy day, and starting tomorrow, I'll be off the grid for a little over a week.
Replying to comments
Yes I can reply to comments as before and create my own. The edit box is back and you can see what you are typing etc.

Glad to here it was fixed but still not sure what the problem was, with bsi I was able to post, comment, and edit both with 0 issue on my iphone with beta 3 and 4 of 18.4.
So is it fixed for the…
So is it fixed for the current public release of iOS, or just for the current beta of iOS?
I'm guessing maybe just for iOS beta?
As of this morning, I still seem to be having issues if I try to comment on an existing post or reply to a comment on an existing post. For those who haven't encountered the issue, basically, what happens is that you can dictate, or maybe even type at first, but VO doesn't recognize the edit box, so you can't proofread or edit before posting. More than that, though, I've had a lot of trouble finding the post button over the last couple of FB app updates. I'm glad it seems to be working for the majority of people here, though.
What about editing posts & comments?
Hi,
Is it once again possible to edit posts & comments on the iOS version of Facebook?
If not, I can easily do that on my BrailleSense.
It's not just the beta,…
It's not just the beta, since I'm not on that. As for editting comments, I'm pretty sure that works as expected too.
Editing Comments
Editing comments presents a problem, as you cannot hear the letters you are typing or deleting on a keyboard. At least this happens when using BSI, but I am sure if you delete on a normal qwerty keyboard editing can be achieved. Anyway, just make sure you reread and check the accuracy of your comment before hitting the post button.
workarounds
This is where I write what I need to in Notes and paste it in.
This way, I can proofread in Notes before posting.
I've had to do that with Skype because Braille Screen Input doesn't work in that particular app—although it won't matter much for Skype soon.
Other times, I just dictate into ChatGPT because their dictation feature is better at understanding you than Apple's.
