Getting siri to dictate digits instead of words

Hi,
One of my students brought up something interesting, when using siri or dictation to text, and dictating a number, it puts the word of the number. For instance, he has something where he'd need to reply with a number 1 to confirm, or a number 2 to cancel, and nothing else will be recognized. My first thought was to tell siri to reply "numeral 1" or "Numeral 2", but nope, still typed the word. Any other hints?

There might be a way. I don’t know it. But I will say is that in a few months when I was 19 releases, things will hopefully change for the better and you might be able to get that going.

Hi,
For some people, saying the word 'numeral' and then the single digit number works, but this definitely doesn't work for me. I've just tried this multiple times. The only thing that worked is me dictating 12, and then it typed 12, and then I deleted the 2, and then I just had 1 left, or if you need 2, dictate 21, delete the 1 and then you've got the 2 left. Apparently, you can tell Siri to delete text, so delete 2, but I tried this and it just dictated what I said instead of deleting. It's really clunky. Personally, I'd dictate the message, stop when you want to insert the number, switch the keyboard to numbers, type the number, switch it back to letters again, and then carry on dictating with Siri.
